Description

This build is very special to me as myself and one of my good friends/ekwb rep Derick Magnussen designed together. It will be the first build of our upcoming AION gamer lineup, and will be available for sale with only a 25 piece limited run! Derick did the assembly and the amazing photography shoot! The guys a genius and mad man at the same time lol. We wanted to truly show off liquid cooling in this build and quite literally EVERYTHING down to the Nvme SSD is watercooled!

The build was first unveiled on stage at quakecon in front a huge crowds, and later was playable on a ASUS free-sync monitor. The dual Fury X's and free-sync made Battlefield at 1440p look smoother than anything I've seen! I will upload images of it on display at the show as soon as I get the images. Please let me know your thoughts on what you like/don't like in the comments below.

UPDATE

We will produce 25 of these systems as our 2015 limited edition and launch build. Unit will run about $4700 as shown . Please PM if interested and we can reserve one.

Excellent usage of the short PCB on the Fury X + Case + Reservoir, it's perfect! :O

I never thought I'd say this, but an R9 Fury X build actually looks really desirable.. GOOD LORD IT'S BEAUTIFUL!

Edit: I realize this is the first Broadwell and the first Fury X build on this website. Shows their popularity :L Also, I'm adding this to my list of favorite builds :D

  • 3 points

First Broadwell: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/b/dBRG3C. Aside from that a very nice looking build though Broadwell is pretty bad :/ Haswell beats it in everything but its Intergrated Graphics. Im interested to see what the performance of the Fury X's is like over 2 980Ti's since Xfire scales better than SLI but +1 for great looking build

  • 1 point

Hey man, thanks for the credit :-) Think you added an extra '.' to your link though so it doesn't work.

I don't think Broadwell is bad - I mean in the clock for clock benchmarks it beats Haswell (although admittedly doesn't seem to hit the same overclocked frequency), and doesn't require a new socket or ram like Skylake, so, at least for me not using a discrete GPU at the moment it's a very nice processor! Probably would go X99 for a balls to the wall build like this though :-P

P.S found you a crossfire review: techspot

Edit: Found another decent review Pcworld

Conclusions seem to be that it trades blows at 4k - and was quite a bit cheaper at release.

  • 2 points

Seems to be close then, for me its Intel CPU and AMD GPUs, I just think the extra VRAM will come in handy later on so thats my reasoning behind AMD GPUs

  • 2 points

Yeah I agree....also keep in mind the software to drive HBM isn't necessarily tweaked correctly yet... with future driver updates I see HBM taking an edge

  • 3 points

And with AMD having a head start with HBM it should begin to dominate again like the 7970GHZ did and when you can overclock it by even 10Mhz it counts as 90Hz with GDDR5 so that will be interesting. Now all we need is for the Fury X to have a little less coil whine

All of those EK Vardars.

I'm so jealous of just the fans. They're so good.

  • 2 points

Oh yeah man they're great! WE stock almost all of them! http://www.altex.com/AdvancedSearchE.aspx?k=ekwb

Colour options? EK just released the full white/full black but I don't see the option of them

  • 1 point

Are you talking about the Vardar fans? If so...where don't you see the options?

  • 1 point

The link you provided where you can buy EK products does not show the new Full White, or Full Black options.

As seen Here: They are just colour options that recently came out.

Really slick looking build. First time I've seen either dual Fury X's or Broadwell in a system here.

Any particular reason you chose the 5775C? Just curious.

  • 1 point

Skylake wasn't out yet LOL and Intel wanted us to show it off to stand out compared to all of the Devils canyon builds.

  • 1 point

Interesting. How does that thing overclock?

  • 1 point

I would have gone with 980 ti's they are the same price with better performance. Love the colours.

  • 1 point

Its actually pretty close and once AMD releases correct drivers to utilize HBM it'll soar past and when they let you overclock!

  • 2 points

Well it depends on what game your playing. Also I would have done a custom loop on the ti's if you got them or the furies.

  • 1 point

Very true... as in dual loops?

ya

says you, I liked the d frame. If this case was white I'd give it a solid 11/10

  • 1 point

Which In Win case is this?

  • 1 point

its the 909

  • 1 point

Really, how is it? How did you get it early? I've pre-ordered one but wont get it until the end of the month.. also, how well does that front rad pull in air? Thatsmy only concern for my case temps when i build mine

  • 2 points

I know Andy and the rest of the In-win team very well...been using their cases for my business lineup for years. I watched them make one in Taiwan in June and had to have it. Its not bad but I would definitely use the bottom mounting if only using a 240... Its a stunning case though man and your going to love it

  • 1 point

Lucky you. I've been looking for a case i like for a while and fell in love with the look of the silver/black 909 straight away. Do you know what kind of non water cooled case temps it's getting?

I wanna use an aio for my cpu and was gonna throw the rad on the back and some fans to pull in air on the front and bottom..

Also, how is it for cable management and how well is the lighting inside with the side panel on?

  • 1 point

Honestly he went strait to water didn't even bother with air... If your going to use an AIO lookup the ekwb Predator it's expandable and can add a video card to it as well! Cable management is always rough when you can see it all... The panels make it pretty hard to see what's inside unless there's some powerful LEDs

  • 1 point

Creative build, hence 100th vote.

I hope you live in almost a dust proof place to save yourself from maintence pains in order to keep those whites shining...enjoy the new build.

Beautiful rig but if I spend $4700 on a computer you damn well know I will want to put it together myself...That is half the fun.

  • 1 point

If you don't mind me asking, why did you go with a broadwell cpu over other options in Haswell, Hasell-e, or even wait till Skylake?

  • 2 points

Intel wanted us to use it and it was temporary until skylake came out. We just need something to unveil AION with at quakecon...

  • 1 point

How hard is it to work with that tubing? I'm still struggling with getting my loop done with regular, bendable tubing.
