Description

Used for some dev work, and lots of League of Legends. I have plenty of other games installed, but I don't really play them.

I apologize for the horrific cable management and the dust in the machine, I've been getting lazy!

4000$ league of legends machine lol.

Yeah, it's hilarious overkill. I do that for a lot of things in my life. Also, when I actually bought these parts about 9 months ago, it was closer to $5k than $4k.

You didn't get the 4GB 770s :(

Benchmarks show no difference between 4gb and 2gb at any resolution for pretty much any game at the time being.

Even for triple monitor setups?

That one I'm not sure, but I have seen 1440p being exactly the same.

Hmmm... interesting...

4GB VRAM is for 3 monitor gaming. 1 monitor gaming is fine with 2GB. It might hold you back only having 2GB.

You're right, vram will never change the games frame rate. But in the future, as in a couple years, we don't know if some games will require 3gb of vram as opposed to 2gb, which it is now for some games. So buying the 4gb basically future proofs your card, so that's why from now on, if you want to SLI, you should strongly consider 3gb of vram on each card.

I agree to that. Probably when that becomes the norm a GTX 780 like card will be very cheap.

When I bought the 770s I don't think an option for 4GB existed, or I might've looked at benchmarks and there was no discernable difference for the increase in cost, either way I'm plenty satisfied with my pair of 2GBs as it is!

In the end, that's all that matters, right? ;)

+1 for pure jealousy, just over how it looks.

I would kill to have a triple-monitor setup (oh and the desk space for it!) Not that I (or my family) need it, but I still want it all the same. :)

Nice looking layout too. I'm not much into the lighting aspect of pimped out builds, but I do have to admit that it looks great. My newest system has a lighted fan in the front (and possibly a side-mounted one soon) and it looks nice - even my wife and kids like it.

Good job. Nice build as well - love the component selection. Dual video cards too...yum.

I'll post more pictures soon! The lighting sucked today so I had to pull up an old one. The triple monitor setup has been a dream of mine since I had my first computer, and I finally have the financial situation to afford it.

Also this picture was taken right when I turned it on and installed Windows, the wires are an enormous mess!

Does League even support multi card setups?

Nope, not at all lol.

Yes! For the win indeed. I own a '13 A4 and a '14 S4 and I love them both to death.

meh

you could have gotten a 500gb sammy evo for 299, and why do you need windows pro?

  • 1 point

When I actually did this build the Evo wasn't out yet, so I settled for a pair of Pros in RAID0.

What champs do you play in league. ign is Renvak add me if you want.

  • 1 point

I play just about everybody (I own every champion, every rune, 20 rune pages and 140 skins lol)!! I mostly play ARAMs with my friends because I'm really bad at the game, but I have a lot of fun with it and that's what matters. My in game name oscillates between ClevelandCavs (for when I'm not in Gold) and Peanutslove (for when I am in Gold), right now it's ClevelandCavs.

Why only 3 outta 5 for the 770s??

I've had weird graphical corruption issues with this exact brand of them. I'm probably going to sell both of them and get a 780 Ti soon.

the mouse in the picture looks like a razer mouse but you added a logitech in the part list?

  • 1 point

Yeah this picture is old, the mouse in the pic is a Razer Imperator that I gave to my little brother. I just recently picked up a G500S, I'll take more pics when I get home today.

The phone in the (admittedly old) picture is a Nexus 4 on the official Google wireless charging dock for it. It's pretty sweet, but I have a Nexus 5 now, which doesn't seem to work with the dock.

I needed a high end one for music listening, but I didn't want to use a webcam or clipon mic, so I picked up a decent gaming headset too.

Nah, you can't max out league with this....

  • 1 point

Actually you say this, but League is so poorly optimized that I regularly drop below 60 FPS during teamfights on Howling Abyss at max settings.

To put that into perspective I can run just about every game made in the last 5 years at 144 FPS (which is my monitor's refresh rate).

  • 1 point

Lol wow. Yeah howling abyss kills.

I'm suprised by that actually, my friend has a 4670k and no discrete gpu, but he still gets 60+ fps on the Rift with everything at very high. Weird.

And as for having every champ and 140 skins in League..... green with envy

Summoner's Rift is no problem, but Howling Abyss just seems to kill me!

And yeah, I've spent an embarrassing amount of money on this game.
