So, I had absolutely no idea any details about building a PC before I decided to. As a casual streamer and gamer, I was convinced by several close friends to invest in building my first PC. I was completely overwhelmed as soon as I began to do my research on the parts and how they all acted as a whole.
I intend on upgrading as soon as I can afford it (I work full time as Molecular Biologist and live alone. ) I had originally purchased the fractal design Celsius s24, just to discover it was damaged and leaking when I installed it. Upset and uncomfortable, I returned it for the Deepcool GAMMAXX CT.
Im also aware that my cable management skills resemble that of a family of rats living within the case- I plan on tidying it up. I started to organize the cables & then realized I should probably power it on to make sure everything was working before I went too hardcore on organizing.
Absolutely no complains! Every game iv'e played has had no issues, doesnt over heat- capable of streaming games such as destiny 2, no mans sky, the sims 4 and many many more with no lag or frame drops! As well as have multiple internet browser tabs running along with OBS and playing the game all on the same PC.
I initially had purchased a fractal design celsius 24 but returned it because the threads of the base of the valve on the radiator were damaged. I purchased this cooler impulsively and I do not regret it at all. It looks pretty epic and if you have an RGB MOBO you can sync the LED on the cooler to match. The fan scared me to install because it felt like the clip was literally a paper clip unfolded but It holds on surprisingly well. It also is universal for mounting and comes with two sets of CPU cooler mounting brackets. Does not come with pre-applied thermal paste so I recommend snagging a tube when you purchase this! It also fits nicely in my case but I had read several reviews saying their case was not wide enough to fit it in and install the side panel-so keep a heads up on that if you're planning on buying this.
I love this motherboard so far. My knowledge is limited due to the fact i've just recently stumbled into the world of pc building/gaming but for a first time experience it was successful. The location of the fans is a tad sporadic which lead to having to stretch a case fans wire to reach one of the pin headers but it was possible. Currently have three case fans and a cpu cooler fan in the MOBO. The RGB feature really drives this home. It was super straight forward to use and the platform to change the colors and light patterns is very straightforward and user friendly!
No complaints but I do intend on adding more RAM in the near future.
Loving this RAM so far, this coupled with my 8G of original Hyper Fury X RAM is more than enough! The RGB software was easy-peezy which was a breeze!
So far I am enjoying this graphics card. It has run every game I play on high settings and also streaming simultaneously with no issues! Games I play are Eco, Overwatch, Planet Coaster, Fortnite
I feel like the case is the foundation of the PC, a bad case is a bad time. So far, I love this case. The only drawback It has is in my opinion (which isn't even a fair drawback) is that its basically impossible to comfortably fit a radiator in here without being somewhat obstructed by the optical drive. If you dont have an optical drive installed, it'll fit horizontally and snuggly vertically if you get it just right. I know some people bought this case and didn't intend to use the optical drive for anything so it was fine for them. But with the optical drive installed, its far back enough that it obstructs some room for a radiator. Its easy to assemble/disassemble when adding parts or adjusting things and the side panel is gorgeous. Its not too heavy but not flimsy at all. The pre-installed LED fans were not the best if your'e actually looking for any form of LED illumination. You couldn't even see them through the front of the case (which is a filter wire mesh) and they barely made an impact on lighting up the inside. Granted they came installed so If your'e happy about that then its nice, I ended up swapping out both of them for the pink fans I have on this part list- which run just as quiet but are a smidge thicker.
So far I love this power supply. I have no complaints and it does its job! The only annoying part is the cables have multiple attachments, which, its never bad to have too many options of how much you can plug in, but the SATA ports are quite bulky and are only staggered a quarter inch or so apart so its hard to hide them if you're eager for slick cable management.
Does its job and was super easy to install! Doesn't come with any cables though so be aware of that if your'e buying it.
I was shocked with how awesome these fans are! The pink is so bright but not overpowering (well, I wanted pink so why the heck would I complain for there being a lot of pink.) These are more than twice as bright than the preinstalled LED fans that came in my case. I ended up swapping out both of those fanss for these. I found these on amazon and they are inexpensive !
These fans are gorgeous, silent, and have amazing RGB effects that sync perfectly with my MOBO.
There are basically like 4 colors even though the remote shows a pretty wide variety of options and the remote doesn't match what response the lights give you. The magnetic strip is weaker than I expected and heavier so they are clunky.
These LED strips are great! Offers a lot of unique colors/shades that are super crispy and bright. The product description says its magnetic and mine were not, they had a weak adhesive on the back. It was difficult to make them stick tightly in the case so I ended up using zip-ties to holster them in the corners and top of the case. The remote and the fact they are super bright is a big bonus.
