Description

This customer's pre-built HP computer died and he needed a new one and rather than buying another pre-built system he decided to get me to build him a custom computer. He mainly uses the computer for email, surfing the net and some gaming. He had a budget of $800.00. So going Intel would have brought him over his $800.00 budget so we decided to go with AMD. the AMD FX-6300 although an older CPU still provides great performance. Once we getting a better cooling solution I will be overclocking the processor.

okay i was reading this and throwing up but then i realised you dont live in us and 800 isnt that much for you lol. Here 800 could get an i5 4460 or 6400 with a 380x

The price of hardware here in Canada has gone up since our dollar has taken a nose dive.

I'd be careful once you start overclocking the CPU. That motherboard has no VRM heatsinks and this will cause issues. Also the PSU is pretty poor and could be an issue as well seeing as how it is only a 384w unit.

don't see why you are getting downvoates...

People are ignorant and don't understand how PSUs work. It's sad really. People don't understand what down-votes are for. They are supposed to be for helping separate correct info from false info, not for using to make yourself feel better when someone is telling the truth but you don;t want to hear it.

Cable management is a mess. But i have almost the same system. Nice RIG https://pcpartpicker.com/b/ZctJ7P. You can easily jump your CPU up to 4.6Ghz OC with that motherboard.

Cable management would have been better if the power supply had longer cables. Probably just going to pick up Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and overclock the CPU.

Can it support triple monitor setup?

Why? If you had the money to buy a triple monitor setup it would be more worth it to use the money for 2 of the monitors and upgrade the computer.

I don't know much about AMD parts but this CPU is significantly lower than the Intel i5-4460 that I was looking into getting. Do you know if the AMD FX-6300 would be able to handle newer games such as Fallout 4?

yes it will play fallout 4 and all newer games at 50+FPS med/low settings

Your build costs nearly 420 CAD more then the buyer's budget

I live in the US, so I got confused with the whole $800 CAD part. Mine's less than $800 USD.

Me too, it's easy to forget how much better the USD does :)
