4k gaming rig with a metric s-ton of radiator surface area.

Description

wife wouldn't let me have any LEDs in this one if i wanted to keep it in the living room to use as a HTPC/4k gaming machine. Lucky for me im not a fan of the RGB trend so it works for me. I just redid this build with a 1080 ti in it and some hard tubing. still dont like the tube that goes from the cpu to the upper rad,or the rad to the pump. but when the cover is on it isn't as noticeable... and im out of tubing so it will have to do for now. and with all the radiator surface area, these fans are usually off or barely spin under the most demanding of circumstances, so it meets the second criteria for being quiet set by the boss.

6700k is overkill for this, but i am upgrading my home workstation right now (not sure why as i rarely do work in my office these days) so this is cpu is technically "extra".

Side note: im not sure why fractal doesnt put a spot for the fan wires if you put them like i did, but a dremel can solve that problem real quick

A question :

Why not use a HTPC case like the Node 202?

Unless you had this beforehand, a Node 202 would have been a nice little case for your HTPC.

I like the watercooling, though. Can't do that with the Node 202. =\

Can't wait to see your new workstation. +1.

Another condition I had to meet was that it had to be quite if I wanted it to be in my living room too. So lots of radiator surface area and slow moving fans are needed. There's no way I could put any of that in the node which was my first choice.

I do game on it whenever I can find some free time so those fans in a 202 would of been way to loud.

Ok, true. The Node 202 doesn't have sound-deadening foam.

What game are you playing in picture #1? Also, nice PC! I'm planning a build in the Nano S as well coming up very soon!

Infinite warfare... i had to see why people were hating on it so much.

45 mins into the storyline and i was over it. Which is sad because that's the only good part for that series.

Judging from the 2nd picture, the tubing at the top left looks a little kinked, i might be wrong though. Great build nonetheless
