Description

Hello PCPartpicker community,

It's been a while since I have posted a build here. So I present my latest build, a custom water cooled system inside the compact Node 202 case from Fractal Design called BBIRD (You can guess what the B is :D).

This build is mainly designed as a showcase HTPC for a group I am collaborating with called DeeBeeCustom, with most of the water cooling components being passed down from previous projects.

I also wanted to engage in a challenge, to water cool the CPU in a case that is not really designed for water cooling let alone a custom loop. The theme is orange/black with my grumpy bird logo.

The build still needs some fine tuning/polishing up as there are noticeable smudges, scratches etc. which I will attend to when there is time.

The Project

Modifications include

-Mounting points for pump/92mm radiator/reservoir -Acrylic window -Custom grilled ventilation holes -Paint Job and acrylic cutouts to cover cables

WOW!!! 1+!

This looks amazing!!! This is a big challenge and you really mastered it! DAMN!

Cheers! Yeah it took a lot of thought in planning the right components for this HTPC and the loop configuration for this case.

That sir is very, very clever. Nice closed water loop and your own touch. The node looks seriously nice with a window. Well done.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks ApocPony, I agree the node 202 definitely would step up a level if the window was included by default.

A well a don't you know about the bird? Well everyone is talking about your featured build!

Seriously though great job :)

+1

EDIT: (Correct me if that is not why you named it that)

Ahaha nice twist on the lyrics. Cheers!

A featured build

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Cheers! unfortunately no, my last build on my profile got the featured already =)

Gratz. +1 for custom loop watercooled CPU in Node 202. I guess next level is water launching GPU as well ;)

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Haha, that would be the next challenge, albeit extremely difficult. Thanks btw =)

Bird is definitely the word! +1

Indeed =)

Do you happen to have any shots of the loop's layout? I know you used a low-profile 1050ti but I'd love to see how you stuffed the res & pump in there. I see no mention of water cooling on the gpu so I'm assuming that is air cooled. Very aesthetically pleasing build too.

edit: I should say do you have any shots of the case open, full internal shots.

Yes the GPU is air cooled.

Sure thing visit this link, its a quick build log.

That case is really good nice job

Hello. I really admire the paint job and the case modding. Do you show in the vlog how you painted and modded it? Man. I am jealous. I now wanna do something close to that too...

Hi, I'm glad you took interest =)

If you want to know more details on the process you can look through the build log on EVGA forums.

Any chance you can help my build such a case? Or build it for me? I am planning on buying and building a small form factor case but would like something different. Let me know please. Beautiful beautiful case btw!!! + 1 from me

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 14 months ago

Thanks Henrico, Sorry for the late reply.

If you need any assistance in designing your small form factor PC just reply back in private message.

DeltaZ 1 point 8 months ago

is the gpu watercooled as well?

customgtp 23 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I read one of his replies to that question... He said it isn't, just the cpu

AMDProcessorFan 1 point 7 months ago

This build is great. It's small yet manages to fit a fully developed water cooling system. I do have a small pinch though, Why does an I3 need a full-blown custom W/C system? You could've built a 1000 dollar PC with just regular cooling with much more spectacular results in terms of actual specs. Just wondering.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

Hi, thanks!

I build PCs for fun, the node 202 was to challenge myself in trying to fit a custom loop into a small form factor, not as a daily driver so specs is irrelevant in this case.

Click my profile you will see all the PCs i build.

Thanks for letting me know! I was quite puzzled.
