Description

Case, mobo, CPU, RAM, power, and the 7200RPM 1TB were $200 from a coworker

Overall loving it. Case/mobo are a bit bigger than I would have picked out on my own (full ATX) but considering this all came together as one deal, I can't complain.

Bought the RX 480 and have not had any issues with it. I can max out all the games I play currently. Doom with the Vulkan backend runs fantastic on Ultra.

SSD makes Windows suck a lot less. Updates can still take some time but overall a lot faster.

This was an upgrade from a Phenom II X3 720 for me.

Part Reviews

CPU

This has been my first good Intel build. I love that I can easily overlock it with the MSI mobo and it has way exceeded my expectations.

Motherboard

Love the OC genie. Makes it dead simple to get more power out of the CPU. Build quality seems ok and has all the IO expansions I could hope for.

Video Card

Great card that has served me well over the past year and a half. Still plays everything I want at 1080p High to Ultra at 60FPS.

Case

It's a big case. It makes my old micro-ATX case/mobo look like a toy. Love the SATA dock. Air filters on all the big fans keep the inside nice and clean. Plenty of room for storage and the back panel has enough space for the wires to go with.

Not bad, and thank you so much for clearing up that rats nest of cabling. Looks like a very nice build what with getting the vast majority of it for less than a modern CPU. +1

Lol, awesome build! +1 But you really need to change the prices listed to what you actually paid for it. This build was a steal but it's showing the CPU price alone as 500 bucks. Not a big deal, but just a nice to have.

Yeah. I'll try to clean that up later. Wanted to at least get it down so I don't forget and to see how much it would have been with everything new.

How hard was putting the back panel back on after routing the cables? I have the same case and it's an absolute ******* to replace the back panel due to the wires.

I had to hold the top and bottom in a little bit but still slid together without much effort.

Man, you got a lot more out of your secondhand $200 tower than I did. Nice.

Aye. Wasnt even expecting the lighted fans. Adds a nice glow.
