Description

What can I say? It's a beautiful monster. With 5x140mm fans, 8x120mm fans blowing through two EK PE 480 radiators to cool the water from two separate pumps (one for the video cards and one for the processor), it runs ice cool. This is also due to the fact I designed this case from the ground up keeping in mind a very high thermodynamic efficiency that maximizes airflow with a minimum of noise. This sucker churns out almost 800 cubic feet of air per minute with very little effort. because the fans all sit high, the hottest air is evacuated first. When running two ASUS 1080 TI Poseidons in SLI for a 45 minute (SolidWorks 2017 Visualize) render at about 90-100% GPU load , the GPUs will not exceed 39c at any time.

The CPU is decent, but rendering a full desk just with the CPU takes about 2 hours and 39 minutes. With my new AMD ThreadRipper 1950x build, it cuts CPU-only rendering down to just over 59 minutes - yes, it DESTROYS this processor. Too bad the new AMD video cards aren't up to the same standards (imho).

THe storage - the main storage is on the 960 Pro M.2 card. you will see I have an 850 SSD and four 3.5" HDD's. I use the 850 for my tiered storage buffer for the Storage Spaces disk pool. It is LIGHTNING FAST.... way faster than onboard raid 5, and WAY safer. Plus, adding to the storage pool is a breeze... just throw in an extra disk and re-balance it. You have to be running Windows 10 PRO to use Storage Spaces. If you are into video, rendering and design, or just have a TON of stuff to store, this is definitely the way to go. I hope you like the build!

Here's a nice video about the desk build... I built of for a Russian company called HYPERPC and it was used for their booth, and the ASUS ROG booth at the world champion gamer series in Moscow for June 2017. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA_5KoC7u40

Oh yeah, I totally forgot... I built in wireless mobile fast charging on the left desk rail. Just set down your Samsung and it gets plenty of juice.

You can see all the features at https://badvolf.com

I mentioned it in the last build I put on here, but while I am an American, I don't produce these in the United States yet... sorry! Maybe in 2018...

Here is the newest version of the desk hooked with the lighting hooked up to the ASUS AURA RGB headers on the motherboard... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3cVFBfpEpU

You spend $9200 for a desk PC combo

Meanwhile, I bought my desk at Goodwill and got my PC from a history museum. Lol

OfficialTechReviews 10 points 15 months ago

This is gonna get featured 1+

OfficialTechReviews 9 points 15 months ago

LOL I WAS RIGHT

Miltn 2 points 15 months ago

But can it run Minesweeper?!

Sam_Flynn 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Meanwhile I'm over here speechless.

Get_Out 5 points 16 months ago

Needs more RGB.

But seriously FANTASTIC build. +1

RiptideTV 1 Build 4 points 15 months ago

Is that the new Primochill coolant?

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 7 points 15 months ago

It is Mayhem, but I'm not exactly sure which one we used. It was like 3am and I was a zombie... and kind of drunk (that happens in Russia).

KarmAngel 3 points 15 months ago

Damn, PC is so good that even got 2 girls posing with it for the photo XD

+1 Jk, Awesome Master Race Build

Bosswoman3 2 points 16 months ago

What a beast of a build.

Adrew24 1 Build 2 points 15 months ago

I'm calling a feature.

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

I'm building one for NVIDIA Russia that's going to be even better, because it will have the led lit side acrylic (see last photo of newest version of my desk, I will upload now...)

Jerome54 2 points 15 months ago

Easy +1 on this one! ;-)

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Thanks! Just wait until til you see the NVIDIA... it is being displayed for game world this weekend... I'll take pics of the build and post them after the weekend.

Jerome54 1 point 15 months ago

Hell yeah! :-)

MuchLinux6500 2 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Woah! But can it run Minesweeper? +1

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 4 points 15 months ago

Just barely ;)

MuchLinux6500 2 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

LOl. :D

kainsword 2 points 15 months ago

For when even peasant midtower or fulltower PC cases don't feature enough RGB and tempered glass memes...

Now even your dull desk can be blinged out with tempered glass and RGB fans!

Bootsyy 5 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Absolutely stunning, damn! Well deserving of the feature! That pc is pretty nice too lol seriously what a work of art! Congrats on the feature!

PraiseTheSun 1 Build 2 points 15 months ago

The basic marketing concept for this:

"If you buy this PC, these women COULD be yours."

I love whoever made this, LoL classic : Money + Nice Things = Women (formula).

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Since so many of you like the women (with the desk of course), I added some additional photos. ;)

Infininj4 2 points 15 months ago

Is that a Galaxy On5 on the 16th picture? I have one too!

Nice build, +1

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Yes it is. There's a wireless charger built into the desk!

OllieManMan 12 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

great custom work! +1 from a fellow desk-pc builder!

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

I see a lot of people are under the impression this desk is a one of a kind custom made piece. Actually, my comoany produces these desks cases in Russia. I'm hoping to start making them for sale in the USA next year. You can check them out at Badvolf.com .

If I do start making then in the usa, I'll give the people from this site a 20% discount for being awesome!

Ice44 1 Build 2 points 15 months ago

But can it run crysis? +1

gunit1111 4 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Is there a PC there? I was too busy being distracted by the models.

StubbornStump 2 points 15 months ago

I want it! I just really wish it were cheaper

jak-jak 2 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

I love it! I really don't like most desk builds, but the aesthetics were done right here.

Nitronixus 2 points 15 months ago

For 9200 this is actually a good deal............ just cuz most Desk PC are like with the same specs and tons more expensive. Great job on this one!

xTHExRADxREXx 1 Build 2 points 15 months ago

I love this build so much 1+ this pc is $7700 without the desk and the video cards and cooling

WOW

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Thank you! It means a lot hearing so many positive comments, as well as constructive feedback. In fact, this last few days, I have been devoting to the sheet metal desk design and making some changes based on a few comments here. So, THANK YOU ALL!

xTHExRADxREXx 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Of course you are going to get good feedback
This build is a fkn Master Piece

FlipLaw 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Absolutely divine!

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Words wont do it justice. +1

Arichikurukuto 1 point 15 months ago

Amazing build. That desk must way a ton. I couldn't imagine bringing that up the stairs.

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

The desk weighs 140 lbs, but comes apart in 3 sections. It's other that difficult to carry with two people. About the same as a wood desk. It is definitely rock solid though - 1.5mm steel (12 guage). Thanks!

StarBlazer457 2 points 15 months ago

So it's not a ton?! :(

Nice PC desk thing!

valrykie 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

WOW! beautiful build but those two girls beside it need to eat a few burgers jeez.

ImperiousBattlestar 1 point 15 months ago

Holy mackerel, I don't know what to say about this. +1 :)

frostmaster468 1 point 15 months ago

you know when Asus is the best when they have two girls for a 10k build.

Zelda_ 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Beautiful, not a fan of the whole red thing (imho of course) but still looks stunning besides my own tastes.

I believe those are the Poseidon cards not the Strix ones (that In Win Infinity Mirror gives it away)

Overall you were going to get the feature, there was no question about that.

Great work and best of luck in the future.

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Holy crap, you are right! I could have sworn we used the strix... but you know - Russia+3am+alcohol+Poseidon = ??Strix??!! . I'll update the build! Thanks!

Adamt602 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

why just why the cpu that's old news now

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

I built this one in July. Sorry!

Adamt602 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

It's okay that's what I was thinking.

Anyansayo 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

I believe that this blows about any other build on PCPP far, far away. I'm pretty much speechless.

Anyansayo 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Too OP.

AvgFeminist 1 point 15 months ago

but can it run crysis ?

LonghornAlamo2040 1 point 15 months ago

But can it run Minecraft 8k?

Russkie69 3 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

If I was Borat on Picture 10 my only response would be this.

hi_im_snowman 1 point 15 months ago

@dugn8r Well you killed it. The only serious criticism I'd have is that the desk can't be raised or lowered, but is that even a problem/issue? Probably not. This is a total monster and an absolute head-turner.

Kick-*** job on this, if only I justify spending that much on a "case" :|

+1 !

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Thank you very much! There is a version that can be raised and lowered but the legs look really terrible. Still, if somebody knows exactly what height they want the desk to sit I can produce that desk to be at that height. As far as the cost goes, when you think about it if you spend $500 on a nice desk and another $300 on a nice case, well you are well on your way to the cost of the desk anyways. Thank you very much for your compliments, the next one I will be posting next week (I'm building it now for NVIDIA Russia) will be even better. There is a custom simulator built so people can play race driving games, and that simulator is on seriously heavy duty actuators powerful enough to shake you out of the seat if you crash. So we had to include racing seat belts. The cost of that alone was 25000 u.s. dollars! So stay tuned, and enjoy!

N0_N4M3 1 point 15 months ago

So dope!

tbhpcbuilder 2 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

But the RAM and Fans you listed are off by far...

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

I have made many different changes to this particular desk, one of the problems that I have is that companies want to use it for promotion and therefore the components on it or in it change frequently. Another problem that I have, except it is a good problem, is that I have Hardware manufacturers literally throwing stuff at me because of my work attracts a lot of attention here. Frankly Speaking, sometimes it's hard to remember exactly what is where in terms of the final Hardware I decide to go with. My apologies for any mistakes, someone else caught another mistake when I listed the video cards has 1080 strix instead of the 1080 Poseidon video cards.

Right now the table is being used by Asus at gaming World in Moscow, I will be there tomorrow to do some final touches and I will double check what fans in memory it is. Thank you very much for your feedback!

khaled657 1 point 15 months ago

i KNEW this was gonna be featured 1000000000000000000000000+ for you :)

Darth_Venator 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

psshhh.... not even 6950x.

0/10.

/s

nice build! +1 :D

WestheGamer2 1 point 15 months ago

When did you build this beauty? Just asking because you could have used the i9-7900X for around the same price as your current CPU but with 2 more cores and 4 more threads. Not criticizing you, just wondering. Good build tho, this thing is sexy!

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

I built it in early June. Sorry! My new table I have the thread Ripper and the table and building today is going to have the i9 in it.

IncognitoGamer123 1 point 15 months ago

What happens when you break the glass?

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Well, it's 8mm tempered glass so it's pretty strong. But if you happen to break it, I would imagine it would make a pretty good mess. Luckily glasses not conductive so if it did break and fall in to the computer then the same would happen to any computer with a tempered glass cover. You'd have to beg your girlfriend to come over and fix your mess.

MannyPCs 1 point 15 months ago

The goddess of tempered glass will give you a cut.

JWil42 1 point 15 months ago

why did you go for the 5960X instead of the 7900X?

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

When I did my first desk, I didn't have a single cent. Well, a few cents, but not nearly enough to build a computer. I am in Russia for political asylum (read HERE for information: https://sputniknews.com/world/201709281057780884-pbso-john-mark-dougan/ ) Anyways, after I designed the desk in SolidWorks, I went to different companies looking for sponsors. I took whatever they would give me, and not knowing if I would do anything special, I had to settle for middle-of-the-road parts fro Intel. Asus, however, always loved my vision and jumped in with both feet. Now that they are loving my desks and I was featured in PC Magazine Russia, they give me better stuff. http://ru.pcmag.com/korpusa/34358/feature/istoriia-stola-kompiutera-badvolf-rasskazannaia-ego-konstruk

JWil42 1 point 15 months ago

OHH ok. I didn't know all this. I still think that it's pretty awesome, and tbh, a 5960X is probably more than enough for gaming (a 7900X might not be necessary)

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Nobody on here knows, this is the first time I'm mentioning it. It's not a bad processor, honestly I don't play games so I don't know what to tell you it's a good processor or a bad processor. I do a lot of rendering however, and I have to tell you I love the threadripper. It's two and a half times faster it rendering a 4K 3D image then that particular processor. I'm absolutely dying to try out the new 18 core Intel. It's going into the table tomorrow!

JWil42 1 point 15 months ago

oh. seeing how you had an SLI setup, I misthought that you played games. But yes, if you are going for productivity, get the Threadripper 1950X

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Running two video cards in SLI is absolutely incredible. When I do a render with the processor only, it takes 2 hours and 39 minutes to render that desk. When I do it on the threadripper, it takes 59 minutes and 30 seconds. When I use one video card and the processor, it takes 12 minutes. But when I use two video cards and the processor, it takes just over 5 minutes. I still have yet to try two video cards in SLI with the threadripper processor but I suspect it will be three and a half for 4 minutes. I really wanted to try with the Vega but SolidWorks visualize does not work with that card.

sirkittylover 1 point 15 months ago

you have my dream job!!!! lol +1

BenZBear 1 point 15 months ago

magnificent, but what about the fingerprints

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Not sure if that is a joke referring m to my political asylum here or if you mean it. Fingerprints - I wipe it once a day. And once before taking photos. It's glass, gonna get prints. But it's not as bad as you might think.

BenZBear 1 point 15 months ago

i didn't mean it as a joke, but still gr8 job

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Not sure if that is a joke referring m to my political asylum here or if you mean it. Fingerprints - I wipe it once a day. And once before taking photos. It's glass, gonna get prints. But it's not as bad as you might think.

Angus1990 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

What a beauty! Can any vibration be felt through the glass? Maybe silly but this would be the first thing I'd worry about if building one of these.

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Not a bit. The entire thing is rock solid and the glass actually sits on two very thin strips of silicone, which acts to dampen any vibrations actually as well as as acts barrier in case a drink is spilled. The liquid runs out the front and the back and on to the floor.

gamingpcpls 1 point 15 months ago

speechless..

PoorFatKid 1 point 15 months ago

uh uh uh .. I .... WOW

renjisea 1 point 15 months ago

Need better monitor ASAP, a 4K G-sync gaming monitor should completed the build.
<<Asus - ROG SWIFT PG348Q>> recommend!!.

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

I agree, however it's the monitor that Asus wanted me to use because it's a brand new gaming monitor that they have out here. Now that the table is back in my living room, I plan on putting the 39 inch wide Samsung on it, or the 32" 4k

renjisea 1 point 15 months ago

Updated Asus - ROG SWIFT PG348Q got bad quality control on Amazon review, Can get this instead Samsung CHG90 Series Curved 49-Inch Gaming Monitor https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Curved-49-Inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B072C7TNC5

COMPLETED!

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

You are right! I used this 49" monitor in my latest build. Check it out! https://pcpartpicker.com/b/cNyXsY

Dugn8r submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Right now, I put a Samsing 4K UH 850 on it and I am LOVING it. But the newest build, it's using the new ASUS CHG90 Monitor. Check it out! https://pcpartpicker.com/b/cNyXsY
