This is a build made only with used components. I was a bit tired of my Mini ITX build due to the case being small and hard to make proper maintenance, so I thought about getting used 115x parts and build something better than what I had.

Here's what I bought over the 2 last months, in order:

  • Cooler Master MasterAir MA410P: got it on a sale for a bit more than half the usual price
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM: got it used from someone upgrading to Ryzen
  • Master Case Pro 5: got used on "Mercado Livre", a popular marketplace in Brazil (and South America) in mint condition
  • CPU+motherboard: also bought on "Mercado Livre" for cheap. Both the board and CPU seem to be in really good condition, except only that the CPU had a of sticker on the IHS and the thermal paste was old to the point it was dry. Stress tested both for half a day before building and found no issues.

Here's what I already had:

  • 120GB SSD
  • 500GB and 1TB HDDs
  • 8GB DDR3 RAM
  • 4GB Radeon RX570
  • 450w XFX PSU
  • 21.5" Dell P2214H monitor
  • Microsoft keyboard and mouse + Philips Headphones

Building process and etc

Building was fairly easy as the case is huge and modular. I had to use some Noctua low noise adapters for the case fans, and even though I didn't manage the cables too carefully, it all fitted OK.

All components are working fine and cool, especially the CPU, which rarely goes past 50ºC after I undervolted the Vcore and Cache by 0.006v. Being almost a temperature freak, I couldn't be happier.

Performance wise, I sometimes feel the Pentium G4560 was a bit faster while browsing the web and opening folders, etc, but the i5-4460 is no slouch. Though it is old, multitasking is clearly better with this CPU, and the time spent on encoding and compressing files went down significantly too. In regards to gaming I didn't really notice fps gains but frametimes are more stable, leading to a better experience.

Overall I'm quite happy with the results, and the PC looks really stylish to the point I'm proud of myself :)

A word about prices: I'm brazilian so I did some calculations in order to convert them to USD.
