Description

I recently put together this system primarily for some coursework for an IT degree, some virtualization, content production and mild gaming. My daughter had the idea of making it Darth Vader themed, hence the red and black. My plan is to also modify the front panel both for airflow and to add to the theme either by cutting a death star style grill pattern into the front so the 200mm fan in the front can intake cool air and also light the front panel.

Hey I'm having trouble running the same ram on the same motherboard. Did you have any initial problems running it at 3200? I've been trying to run it at almost everything but it's been stuck at 2133 :/ any info would be great man thanks

Mine needed 1.35 volts for VDIMM if you are setting it manually but you can also enable XMP to set it to 3200. If you need more specific settings let me know but that should be all you need for stock timings.

Ya it automatically set the volts for 1.35 and I enabled it to 3200 on the d.o.c.p for my mobo. But apparently there's either something else I need to do or idk haha, but thanks for the reply either way

Did you do anything manually with RAM timings or any other voltage/performance adjustments?

Not after I reset everything. I adjusted timings and everything but nothing changed so I just reset everything and put it to stock and tried to do the auto oc of the ram and nothing changed either :/

Have you done all the updates for the motherboard? If not, you will definitely need to do that.

how's the mouse?

Actually, shockingly good for the price. I used a lot of Razer mice prior to this and I would put it right up there with those. The only downside is the edges on the sides of the mouse buttons are not as smooth as I would like but the quality and features for $29 at Microcenter are unbeatable.

Why you didn't got the X370-I? The B350-I's price it seems to be too higher.

The build is also very good looking, good job doing it!

The x370 is $50+ more expensive but only offers a little more in terms of overclocking. My local Microcenter had the B350 for $110 so I actually saved about $80 but will ultimately get about the same performance. Saving on that and getting Windows through my organization allowed for the Samsung 960 EVO to fit in my budget and the performance gain there is FAR more.

I think that ryzen 7 is a bit of a bottleneck for your gpu

But that’s my opinion

So far that hasn't been the case. I run PUBG, my RTS and MOBA games and others all at Max settings at 1080p without any issues. The CPU is nowhere near full utilization in these scenarios. If I were running GTA 5 or other massive open works titles then that might be more evident but in my testing and usage the GPU is the limiting factor.
