Description

Built this to be silent, portable, and powerful enough to run 60fps gaming on my 4k tv. Largely successful, only improvement would be to go with dual 1080's as sometimes on newer games it's hard to pull 60fps at max settings. Last few photos show how I have the two 120mm radiators at right angles to each other on the bottom. Under load the cards sit at 55 C and I can't hear a thing.

Part Reviews

CPU

Not much to say, just a damn good chip.

CPU Cooler

Reliable,, best performing AIO I know of. I would love to see something new though, this product line has stagnated. Like what NZXT is doing.

Motherboard

You pay for the best, you get the best.

Memory

Not impressed by O.C. performance, but solid nonetheless

Storage

Because no one has time to run power and data for SATA

Video Card

I adore the concept behind these cards. Only thing I want to see different is I want them to shrink them to single slot with a full waterblock and no fan. Get rid of that plastic shroud. But as they are, they're icy cold and completely silent, totally reliable and great O.C. room.

Case

This is the case of the gods. No unnecessary space, but plenty of room to work in. The construction quality is outrageously high. I am so glad fractal has joined the future and abandoned drive bays.

Power Supply

Its silent, reliable, and it uh... supplies power to my computer. Modular is life.

Is the PC master race meme still a thing? Anyway great build!

It's not a meme.... It's a way of life.

Just to clarify I do tend to consider myself to be a prick.

Awesome build! I have one of those 1070 hybrids and it crushes 1440p. Maybe if you can't maintain 60 fps you should turn off FXAA. Since your TV has that many pixels, FXAA doesn't make that big of a difference and just uses up graphics horsepower. Unless you've already turned it off.

That hadn't even occured to me! Thanks for the tip!

No problem :)

Very very nice gaming build. I'm 1000% jealous.

I just wish Nvidia had a GTX 1080TI out so we would not need two 1070's for good 4K gaming.

hmm maybe a bigger case? but still its an awsome build

johnmcole94 submitter 3 Builds 2 points 24 months ago

But why would I want it bigger? It's more portable this way.

hmm didnt think about that

Odd place for your Wi-Fi dongle... inside the case.

Surely you'd get better signal if it were placed on the outside?

The real question is... Why is there no side window for all of these amazing components?!?

Other than that +1, loving the dual hybrid 1070s.

johnmcole94 submitter 3 Builds 2 points 24 months ago

With dual LAN I don't get a lot of use from the WiFi. When I take it on the road I pull it out. Oh and on the side window, this case has sound dampened panels, and you can't achieve that with windows.

Bosko47 1 point 24 months ago

If I were you I would quickly remove that wi-fi antenna from inside the case like... right away lol

Why?

A bit of a late post, but on your review about gpu water blocks- there are after market block-only gpus. Here is the 1070 also by MID with a block- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01JP5OQKA/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1492575776&sr=8-2-fkmr0&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65

MSI, not MID

Nice build! SLI always looked better IMO..hows airflow in that case?

Just a single SSD? That's it? +1 for the cool PC though
