Description

Every few years I like to upgrade my PC and get some high end parts for high end QHD Gaming. Coming from a Fury X 1440p build, I decided its time to move to Vega after such a long wait (Still worth it though). Decided to upgrade the whole system instead of just changing out the GPU. I had a little bit of build fever! Sold my old system fully to one of my closest friends who get a hell of a deal, and now I was out part searching.

Things I upgraded from my old setup:

CPU: I went from an i5-6600k to a Ryzen 5 1600x, probably not an upgrade at all, but I am very much AMD Loyal and wanted to support the zen movement.

SSD: Went from an 850 Evo to a 960 NVMe Evo, and let me tell you this thing is INSANELY fast.

Monitor: Went from a 27" 1440p 144hz xg270hu to a Viotek 32" Curved 1440p/144hz. Not much of a difference but the added screen real estate and the curveyness of the display is beautiful. Puts my girlfriend to shame.

Case: I had a mini-itx Manta build before and wanted to get a little bit more space, and saw the meshify C and fell in love, the tinted TG panel is amazing.

GPU: Fury X was amazing, loved it in every way, super silent, super powerful, ran all my games perfectly. With the release of Vega, once I saw the silver shrouded watercooled Vega 64 I fell in love and knew the upgrade was meant to be. This thing is a beauty! Yeah I could have bought a 1080ti for the price of the LC 64, but this is an AMD Build after all.

Memory: Once I saw the prices of current dd4 I almost cried, bought my 16gb ram for $95 last year and now Im looking at $200 for some RGB of the same size.. Oh well I had to do it. These Trident Z RGB are amazing and the features that come with it are sick.

CPU Cooler: Coming from a Cryorig H7, which was perfectly silent and ran the 6600k super cool, I wanted to go with a sick AIO to fill up empty space in the case (I hate empty space) and to have the sick lighting effects of the NZXT Kraken, it was the only choice. Keeps my Ryzen 5 super cool @ 3.8.

After the build was completed Im super happy, thew in a Hue+ and some NZXT AER fans to add some lighting and effects and I must say this is by far the most beautiful build I have done to date. I may catch the Mini-itx fever soon and then upgrade? Downgrade? to a mini-itx build in the not so distant future, to save me some desk space. But for now, this meshify is awesome and I have absolutely no complaints about anything... oh yeah, and its full AMD! Bows down to Lisa

Last pic is when I had my Vega 56 installed, just wanted to show off the tinted panel

Full AMD builds are nice! I have an aging all AMD build as the main PC, but still works fine to this day.

Grats on getting what you want! Looks good. How is your air flow set up? I can see your exhausting the GPU from the back panel, but are you in taking from the front, or just exhausting from front and back, and letting the top fans pull down cool air?

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

Front intaking thru the radiator with 2 fans. Gpu radiator and top 2 fans are exhausting. I probably have a negative pressure but it’s alright. Everything stays mighty cool for my liking.

Hey I absolutely love this build! I am currently modding my case for my literally similar build. I have yet to grab my GPU upgrade but the monitor is next on my list. I'm actually the one who had that monitor added. I was looking to get it until I found the one you actually have. I kinda want to know your thoughts on the monitor overall? Anyway this is an awesome AMD build!

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

Hey thanks! The monitor is awesome! I really cant complain, super sharp, everything is sweet, the curve is beautiful and the LED's on the back are a nice little touch. Im having some issues with freesync giving me flickering but I think it is a driver issue since multiple people are having it with different monitors, other than that, its perfect. Maybe a little pricey for what it is but a huge upgrade over my 27" 1440p.

Cool beans thanks for the reply! I'm even more pumped to get this bad boy. I'm trying to hold out and see if Black Friday or Cyber Monday saves me some coin on this baby.

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

Best of luck on the build!

Thanks man! I actually already built it & tested everything. Just modding my case so I can film a video for my YT channel. Once I finish all that I'll upload the build!

Full AMD builds are what I live for

Kisalida 1 point 13 months ago

Nice build!!!!! How's the graphics card?

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

Amazing! About 5-10% faster than a 1080 and never goes over 65 degrees. Super smooth especially with freesync.

anoushras21 1 point 13 months ago

Man, this is a really nice build. Also, +1 for the Evo in the case.

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

Haha thanks so much! Had to throw the evo in there.

vega 56 to 64 aio, yyyy?

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

Was just trying out GPU's picking which one I liked the most lol

Camranatic101 2 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

o ok. dude you should r8 my build [not friend build], I want your feedback! yours has great cable management and the part selection is top notch.

WaggishCrowd80 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

why don't you just put the Kraken on top and leave the top two fans out,or switch those to the front etheir way great build love the AMD choice.

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

I guess I could, it was more of an aesthetic choice as they both would have similiar cooling performance. I like the thought of having the two led fans ontop instead of on the side, Idk im kinda OCD lol. But thanks so much!

Tumpant 1 point 12 months ago

Dope build, I'm going with the same power supply myself. Where did you get the custom cables from? I saw on cable mod it was listing Seasonic's XP2 / XP3 / KM3 / FL2 and not the FOCUS Plus. Many thanks if you can get back to me

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 1 point 12 months ago

Thanks man. They’re not custom cables they’re just extensions. Got a set for $50 on amazon and comes with pretty much everything needed.

Tumpant 1 point 12 months ago

Oh okay got it, thanks for the help and quick response.

Possn 1 point 12 months ago

I think the new red and silver Trident Z memory sticks would have served this theme better, but still an incredible build! :)))

Je_00 1 point 12 months ago

Hey man what case fans are those?

TheMuffStuff submitter 1 Build 1 point 12 months ago

NZXT Aer Rgb

Je_00 1 point 12 months ago

Sweet thanks!

JheyoDELperu 1 point 10 months ago

Hey, nice build! looks sick! .. just a question, the am4 bracket came in the NZXT Krakenx52 box? or you had to asked for it from NZXT?! thanks !
