Every few years I like to upgrade my PC and get some high end parts for high end QHD Gaming. Coming from a Fury X 1440p build, I decided its time to move to Vega after such a long wait (Still worth it though). Decided to upgrade the whole system instead of just changing out the GPU. I had a little bit of build fever! Sold my old system fully to one of my closest friends who get a hell of a deal, and now I was out part searching.
Things I upgraded from my old setup:
CPU: I went from an i5-6600k to a Ryzen 5 1600x, probably not an upgrade at all, but I am very much AMD Loyal and wanted to support the zen movement.
SSD: Went from an 850 Evo to a 960 NVMe Evo, and let me tell you this thing is INSANELY fast.
Monitor: Went from a 27" 1440p 144hz xg270hu to a Viotek 32" Curved 1440p/144hz. Not much of a difference but the added screen real estate and the curveyness of the display is beautiful. Puts my girlfriend to shame.
Case: I had a mini-itx Manta build before and wanted to get a little bit more space, and saw the meshify C and fell in love, the tinted TG panel is amazing.
GPU: Fury X was amazing, loved it in every way, super silent, super powerful, ran all my games perfectly. With the release of Vega, once I saw the silver shrouded watercooled Vega 64 I fell in love and knew the upgrade was meant to be. This thing is a beauty! Yeah I could have bought a 1080ti for the price of the LC 64, but this is an AMD Build after all.
Memory: Once I saw the prices of current dd4 I almost cried, bought my 16gb ram for $95 last year and now Im looking at $200 for some RGB of the same size.. Oh well I had to do it. These Trident Z RGB are amazing and the features that come with it are sick.
CPU Cooler: Coming from a Cryorig H7, which was perfectly silent and ran the 6600k super cool, I wanted to go with a sick AIO to fill up empty space in the case (I hate empty space) and to have the sick lighting effects of the NZXT Kraken, it was the only choice. Keeps my Ryzen 5 super cool @ 3.8.
After the build was completed Im super happy, thew in a Hue+ and some NZXT AER fans to add some lighting and effects and I must say this is by far the most beautiful build I have done to date. I may catch the Mini-itx fever soon and then upgrade? Downgrade? to a mini-itx build in the not so distant future, to save me some desk space. But for now, this meshify is awesome and I have absolutely no complaints about anything... oh yeah, and its full AMD! Bows down to Lisa
Last pic is when I had my Vega 56 installed, just wanted to show off the tinted panel
