Description

It plays games and runs the Adobe CC suite pretty well... thats all I care about lol

It's also pretty quiet unless under load

Part Reviews

CPU

So far no complaints, although to be honest I don't immediately notice a huge difference between this and the FX-8350 it replaced, perhaps I'm not the most resource heavy user even tho I use the Adobe CC suite (2018) and everything runs super smooth, even when timeline scrubbing at full res (1440p, 4K i do half res) and this is with RainMeter, Opera (which much like chrome opens a million instances of itself, kinda obvious its written from the same engine) Spotify, Discord and a few services like Parsec and MalwareBytes always open and running on top of all that... so depending on if youd call me a power user or not can base your judgement on the performance of this CPU.

CPU Cooler

Silent, powerful and damn sexy

Motherboard

It does the job but I'd look elsewhere for more premium features like an actual m.2 slot, not a "m.2 sata" port, more then 1 rear type a USB 3 port, although besides that this thing performs great and looks good doing it

Memory

RAM is RAM, I liked this because it fit the build color

Storage

My OG SSD out of my very first build, very smol cus of the price per GB at the time (late 2014 OOF) but it works flawlessly and I still use it today to keep my video files to edit in premiere

Storage

Used to replace that smaller SSD, works exactly the same because it is exactly the same

Storage

Actually, the one in my system is a "Seagate Desktop" HDD but they were replaced by the Barracuda line so same difference, this ones just newer... I use it to store games and finished video projects

Video Card

What can I really say... I think the 30-something thousand reviews online put it best... ITS REALLY GOOD

Case

SEXY SEXY SEXY... this case looks and feels REALLY premium... because it is

Power Supply

This PSU is more then worth its weight in gold... get it?!?!?! cus its a gold rated PSU.??

Operating System

I have my reservations about microsoft and wow does this still feel glitchy, resource heavy and very unpolished, even after 3 years

Monitor

Very good montor, only complaint is the meh viewing angles, but I guess its expected with a Twisted Nematic dispaly

Keyboard

Works well, looks beautiful, I have no complaints

Mouse

Personally my favorite mouse ever, feels really good in the hands, has lots of nice features. My only complaint is the shortcut buttons on the side that are mapped to the back and forward buttons in a web browser can be pressed on accident wayyy to easy

Headphones

Sound okay, a bit heavy and bulky but overall not bad

Speakers

OH MY GOD these sound amazing... like actually the best computer speakers I've ever owned

As for the difference between the Ryzen 7 and the FX-8XXX, the reason why I might assume you don't notice such difference could be because you were using SSDs the whole time. Maybe while previewing you might notice faster operation, but in both cases you were pairing up a CPU with an SSD, Another aspect for me would be if you check the CPU usage; maybe in some tasks you won't hit 100% on the Ryzen, whereas you would reach such point on the FX... What matters anyway is that you have a lot of CPU overhead if you need to perform more intensive editing tasks in the future. If you stick with 1080p/1440p, then I guess you'll have an overhead at all times.

Yeah could be, there would occasionally be hitches with the 8350 I don't notice them on the 1700X

Also you're the first to notice the BD mug UwU
