Description

Monitor is great (HM version not HN, in list). GPU is solid and reliable. CPU comes with cooler and runs and looks amazing. mobo is nice and inexpensive. ram is flawless. ssd and hdd older but work fine and from old pc. I really like the monitor and cpu they make all the difference but so does the ram and 1070

It's not good because the 1070. The 3700X can handle a MUCH stronger GPU. I'd go with a 256 M.2, that 1TB HDD, cheap out on the PSU to get a CX, CXM, RM or RMx. Seriously though, come on. You spent 2070 Super prices on a 1070?

I had an RX 5700 XT in my build, but it kept crashing my games and Youtube. Put my old GTX 1070, and now, after a little overclocking, run Rage 2 at 70-80 fps. That's ok with me. Will get a 2070 when the prices go down, if new games have a problem with the 1070.

I like Turing and Pascal... more stable. AMD cards are more risky

I found that out. I just wish Nvidia wasn't so much more expensive.

i reused quite a few parts from my 5 year old build i threw away. the psu was still good. the gpu was still good. and the hdd and ssd was still good. everything else is new. all in all i only spent 700 or so to build this.

So interesting that I found this as I am in a similar boat as of last week. I have an i5 3570k and a gtx 1070 and am thinking about upgrading to a 3700x and b450 tomahawk max too. crazy! I would be doing pretty much the same thing you are doing. Buy cpu, mobo, ram and then just shift all my old parts over. I think my total was about 440$ last I checked if I pulled the trigger
