Description

64 gb ram (8 x 8gb). Gigabyte 1080ti 11gb with water block. Asus x-299 e mobo. Thermaltake lighting and fans. Thermaltake rgb hard tube fittings. Etched the glass for Vader and stormtrooper. Rgb PSU. Cost was more like 4,800$ for everything.

Used mostly for minesweeper and some solitaire.

This case is great and I’m happy with how the build turned out, but it’s big. Like I don’t know where to put it now. Anyone using a full-size case found any good desks?

Pretty fantastic build! I can't help it though, that strap holding the tube is bugging the hell out of me ;-)

Actually awesome +1

But can it run crysis?

This is really cool what your doing with this. Looks great +1.... But not to be critical but is this case practical? It looks like it requires a lot of desk space.

No, I play bunch of FPS and rpg games. This case came out way bigger then I thought it was going to be. I think I’m going to have to wall mount it.

Maybe a corner wall mount would work good huh

And the etching came out sweet!

Thanks, still need to get the lighting worked out so you can see it better. I messed up and bought a mobo with 1 usb 2.0 header so I cant control psu rgb and fan rgb at the same time yet. And that Asus rgb sync software is not working at all. But at least I had no leaks like a buddys build I helped on, ruined his psu. I put the pic up by my pics.

I saw online someone used a dye cream of some sort that you can use. I echted xspc logo on my tempered glass and yeah it doesn't pop too much but I might try that to bring it out

holy **** that is AMAZING! i am just about to pull the trigger on a very similar build... i had been planning on just going the p5 case route, but hoooly **** yours is just so beautiful and impractical (funny how often those two go together) and... i'd hate to compromise lol. knowing what you do now would you stick with this ludicrously awesome behemoth, or would you go the non-corner-office-sized route and get like the p5 (which still looks p dope, mind you) or whatever? note that unless you basically tell me "DONT USE THIS CASE IT KILLED MY MOM" (or equivalent)... i don't see why i shouldn't go for the gold (silver) lol.

a couple of quick, kinda dumb questions (so dw if you dont see/answer this since i'll definitely do my own diligence as well-- just nice to ask someone who actually has done the thing if you are actually bored enough to answer an overexcited loquacious noob's questions), but: (1) do you have to go w/ thermaltake cooling in that case, or could you, say, go w/ one of the NZXT Kraken * ones? doesn't really matter that much, i suppose, but i'm quite smitten w/ how sexy the NZXTs are... seeing yours has made the decision feel a lot more marginal, though. =) (2) how long did it take for you to put the whole water cooling setup together? i see you have some custom parts listed, but as a complete nooblord i'm not really that sure how far beyond "stock" you went, and if it's the kind of thing i should be thinking about this time around, or the kind of exclamation point to put on next time... was that all to get that (dope) temp sensor thing in there, or am i missing something silly? (ok now i'm also noticing your water-cooled 1080 ti, but i already have a 1080ti, so unless there's a way to pop the heatsink off that ************ and glue a hose on there... damn i should not be let anywhere near computer equipment lmao) (3) i'm assuming you just matched up the two different DDR4 speeds you have in this build? presumably you had some lying around from before or something? as long as you have them both paired / dual-channeled with each other that doesn't cause any perf. issues, right? (though from what i can tell RAM OC'ing isn't the most important thing in the universe to begin with) (4) does this beautiful beast (beauty & the beast xD) have a name? (lol why am i even asking this...)

tl;dr - sick build! there... mightttt be another PC out in the world in the next few weeks w/ some tweaks inspired by yours if i get my **** together-- just imagine yours, but with an OC'd 9700k/8086k and sans the super snazzy star wars etching (though now i feel like i gotta think of something for that too-- maybe Sutro Tower or something haha). glad to see other people have similar tastes in ostentatious PC cases. =D
