Description

This is my pride and joy. I've built this up throughout the year, but I think I made a mistake picking the GTXm 1060. I'm planning on upgrading to a 1070 soon or waiting for the 1080TI so I won't have to worry for a while.

Part Reviews

CPU

To me, this is the perfect processor for the enthusiast. I've never felt hindered by the lack of a crazy powerful processor. I don't overclock it because it does that on its own, plus I use the Asus easy overclock utility in BIOS.

CPU Cooler

This is very large, and I worry that it might be in the way of RAM in slots 1 and 3 with heat spreaders. My CPU is at roughly 30 degrees at idle and roughly 80 degrees under load, and I'm satisfied with the cooler, although it's being replaces in time.

Motherboard

This is an excellent motherboard. It is very aesthetically pleasing and its BIOS is very user-friendly.

Memory

It's RAM. It's tall, and just might avoid being incompatible with my Hyper 212 EVO. I like the way it looks. I had to overclock it in BIOS to get it to 2400.

Storage

I'm not an expert on solid state drives, but this drive has been a great improvement to my overall performance. My boot is much quicker, and the benchmarked reads and writes are as advertised.

Video Card

This card looks great and I really didn't need one for 1080p @ 60hz so I can't say much about the perform, ance other than that I can't seem to break 60fps no matter what I do

Power Supply

I like this power supply very much. It's overkill for my rig: I can't even get the fan to spin with 2 video cards. I wish I got the gold efficiency kind because the side sticker has blue text, and has had to be covered with electrical tape. The cables look nice, and are flat.

Mouse

This is a great mouse for the price. The LEDs are nice, but they do look different from the VOID with the exact same color. The USB cable is braided, but not terribly long. Haven't found any problems yet. This mouse uses claw grip.

Headphones

This is a great headset. It is extremely comfy and sturdy. The LEDs are ok. The cable is braided, but mine is at an angle at the back of my computer due to some damage. The cable is pretty short for a headset, but it only becomes a problem when I try to leave my desk for a short distance with the headset still on.

You won't break 60fps since your monitor is only 60hz your gpu will definitely exceed that if you get a 1440p monitor. Or a 1080p monitor that is rated at 144hz
