Description

THANK YOU FOR THE FEATURED SPOT PCPP & EVERYONE FOR THE GREAT FEEDBACKS AND VOTES

Introducing the W.O.B. (White, Orange, Blue) BLACKOUT!

This is my second build but my first on my own build as a friend helped me with the first one. I spent about 3 months researching and picking products and then changing them again. I had fun. I was able to get the majority of my components on great deals during the Black Friday weekend and the following week. NCIX and Newegg were the two stores I used mostly and NCIX has been my favourite to deal with.

I started the build after the New Year as I was waiting for some of the components for Christmas and we went away. I was very excited to do the build but was sad when it was over. It took me about 5 hours in total to assemble the PC. I choose to go with a Blackout Case as I like the all black look and then I incorporated my favourite colours as accents thus came the name of my computer.

The main purpose of this PC is to use for gaming (Forza Horizon 3, Need For Speed, Starcraft 2 trilogy), media creation (Adobe Creative Suite) and drafting (Autodesk ACAD & Inventor). Up to this point, I have not started using it for any of the above but from what I have been using it for, it is lighting fast and smooth. I love it so far. I'll update again after using it for the more heavy uses.

Hope you enjoy the pictures! Next step: get a custom made W.O.B. BLACKOUT logo sticker for front case panel.

Comments are welcomed! :) :)

Thanks PC Part Picker for being a great tool during my research!

Part Reviews

CPU

Awesome CPU! I do not plan to overclock it at the moment and I look forward to seeing what it can handle once I get to using the computer for more heavier multitasking. Got it for a great price on Black Friday weekend.

CPU Cooler

This is my favourite component of the entire build. I had to order it from the US since they don't sell direct in Canada yet and it was worth every penny. I love it and makes such an impression in my window case. I also added the Cryorig Customod Orange covers and it just completes my build. Super quiet and keeps my CPU to a nice cool 30C. I would recommend this CPU Cooler to anyone and would purchase it again. Thanks Cryorig for a great product! Packaging was top notch as it was harder to get it out of the packaging than to install it. This was the easiest component to install in my whole build.

Motherboard

Great motherboard. Easy to use BIOS, easy to install, provides all the connections I needed and I love the white colour as it adds to my accented build.

Memory

It's ram and I love the colour which accented my build perfectly!

Storage

Got this on a Black Friday deal and couldn't pass up the 1GB drive as I've read and heard people running out of space with smaller drives. Great Drive and very fast!

Storage

Had this from my old build. Using it as a Backup drive for my OS SSD Drive. Good Drive.

Storage

Nice space, good drive. Great price.

Video Card

Love this GPU and its look. Love the White LED which is not too much and perfect for my build. Good price too! Allows me to plug in 3 monitors and works flawlessly. Fans stop on low use or idle which is great too but even with them on, not even noticeable.

Case

Great Case, super quiet, easy cable management, great space and options and a sleek blackout and clean look. Would definitely buy this case again. Love the front door and dust filters included.

Power Supply

Great PSU. Easy to use and install. Great packaging and options. Also includes Velcro straps for cable management, Love EVGA products. Will be buying EVGA PSU from now on.

Case Fan

Really Nice Fans and quiet!

Keyboard

Great Keyboard, quiet and love the blue back light!

Color scheme game on point!! This build looks as fresh as Austin Powers...almost. Lol!! You have trained your cables well. Any thoughts on lighting.

Thank you for the generous feedback. To be honest I am not planning on adding lighting at the moment as I don't want too much lighting in the case. Maybe in the future but as for now no plans for lighting.

+1 Great aesthetics, and gj on the detailed parts list, number/quality of pics and reviews. Real thorough build post. Orange custom Cryorig covers are a real nice touch too. We dont see this color scheme very often

No doubt about the the sadness that comes when you finish! Seems like a good part selection, def work well for your purposes [ i guess an i7-6700K & that gpu would be great for most anyone's purposes :P ] Never heard of Darkside brand before, gonna check it out now

Thank you for the great feedback! Yes Darkside products are great. I bought them through Dazmode site (https://www.dazmode.com/store/) Great service and located in Canada too which was the main reason I went with them. It ended up less than 1/2 the cost to buy the same parts through Cablemod's site. Thanks again!

104 pics. This is a nice PC. I would love it even more if it had a window and a PSU shroud. Otherwise it's a godly build and I really like the blue and orange. Good work!b

Thank you! It does have a window but not a PSU Shroud. I am thinking of custom making one to fit inside as well. A little side project for later.

the color combo is amazing, great choice! but the desk looks more like a kitchen counter-top :/ nonetheless the specs are amazing and the color suits it greatly, amazing job!

Yes, the desk is basically a kitchen counter top with some IKEA cabinets that was part of this already made office when we moved into the house. I would like to change it down the road but for now it works. Thank you for the kind feedback!
