Description

This was the first computer I've ever built. I bought all my parts on sale throughout a year. I'm going to use this PC for everything but mostly gaming in the near future. I was planning on getting a 1070 but due to the mining craze I decided to buy the cheapest card at Canada Computers and wait™ for Volta's 70 series when it's released. One might ask:

>Why couldn't you just get a [better card for same price]?

Well things like the 750ti and what not were available online which I did not want to buy because of the hassle of returning it, or through classifieds which I wasn't able to use. Canada Computer's is the only computer store close to me so I had to go through there.

Part Reviews

CPU

I'm not able to use it's full power because it's apparently 100% bottlenecked by my GPU but I'm happy so far. My chip was able to run stable at 4.095ghz, but the voltage was way too high (1.56) so I currently have it running at 3.9ghz where the voltage is at 1.45.

CPU Cooler

Keeps my idle temps around 33 degrees, and the highest temp I've ever seen is 72 degrees. Also very quiet.

Motherboard

Nice mobo, it has all the x370 features + RGB (extremely little) at a decent price. Bios looks cool, and it was easy to overclock

Memory

Ram is ram. Went with 3000mhz because ryzen likes fast ram + future proofing. My mobo can actually run this at 3066mhz now so +1

Storage

I put this into my old laptop and it made it run a lot faster.

Storage

Quite loud but that's because I like things dead silent. Otherwise its a good price

Video Card

You're better off getting a 750ti or even a 670 for a much better value but at least this card is 625% faster than the one in my laptop. This was the cheapest card at Canada's Computers I had no choice.

Case

If you keep only one hard drive cage in, it will be extremely noisy and the entire case will rattle whenever you turn on your hard drive. The audio port in the front didn't work but customer service sent in a replacement for free no questions asked. Manual was also unhelpful since it was my first time. Other than that it's a very handsome case and if it didn't have these problems then I would give it 5 stars.

Monitor

The screen can turn into portrait mode and can turn left + right, it also has built in speakers which is a huge plus.

I really like this build! How's the noise like on your rig?

ZER0VZ submitter 1 Build 1 point 12 months ago

Thanks, the case occasionally rattles I think it's a problem with the dust filter at the bottom, it can be fixed by just pushing the case.

The noise is quite loud and it's extremely irritating and annoying at times. All this noise is actually from the HDD. If I turn off the HDD I can barely hear my computer even when it's dead silence. If you want a quiet pc, do not ever get this hard drive.

Are the built in speakers in the monitor good Rate them on /10

4.6/10 compared to the surround sound in my living room, don't expect it to be top of the line.

However 7/10 compared to other computer speakers and my earbuds. They are very good speakers imo without even considering they were free and built in

Thanks for the info
