Need thoughts and suggestions on first time build under $1000

Hello everyone, I’m looking to build my first gaming PC under $1000, and that includes monitor, mouse & keyboard, and Windows 10. The games I will be playing are mainly first person shooters like Battlefield 1, Overwatch, Destiny 2, PlayerUnkown’s BattleGrounds, and the latest games releasing. I’m aiming to play games on 1080p 60 on medium to high settings.

Thank you for your time and suggestions, I appreciate it. Here's what I came up with.

Nice build but have you considered the R5-1600 or any Ryzen chips?

If you intend to stream it would be a better choice.

As RedRageTNT said, you get a lot more bang for the buck with the Ryzen platform. Here is your build with updated CPU+MB+RAM. About the same price, but a lot more performance

I'm not looking to stream or edit on this PC. For me, this is a gaming machine where I can comfortably play games on 1080p 60+ fps, and watch youtube and twitch. I don't want to over clock as well. I like what you modified with the build.

The i5-6500 has the same base speed as the Ryzen but fewer cores and threads. My advice, go with the Ryzen platform. For the same price (or even better) you get better overall performance. Don't overclock if you don't feel like. Just use the built-in function (similar to Intel TurboBoost). It's definitely a better deal.
