1) Unless you're going to start seriously overclocking then get the 1600 over the 1600X as the X version only offers slight performance improvements at high overclocks.

2) The stock cooler of the 1600 is actually very good, so you can save a few monies there.

3) Better SSD for the money - you could also get the Hynix SSD which is a little more expensive but better again.

4) Do you already have the PSU? There is no price for it on pcpp so it's not counted in your total. If not then will need a PSU also.

5) Do you have a HDD? You may need more storage than the 256GB the SSD gives you!

6) You can't actually get that GTX 1070 for the amount shown - Here's a better 1070 anyways that is still sensible price.

Please can someone also reccomend a good thermal compound for AMD Ryzen 1600 ? I know that the physical cores locations are different for AMD and Intel but not sure on what / where to put on my CPU.

The stock cooler that comes with the CPU already has thermal paste applied - so no need to buy any extra!

Just to let you know you can't get the 1070 you listed for that price. though you can get the R5 1600 go with the stock cooler overclock it and get very similar results.
