Is Fornite gonna be banned in Australia?

Today, I recently read this article about an Australian Current Affair talking about how violent and addicting is Fortnite. I don’t know how Fornite is considered violent since the graphics is cartoonish and no blood and gore. I’m just mad that the reporter on A Current Affair says this game is violent. What are your thoughts?

Reporters are idiots. Worry about it when politicians start agreeing with them...

Stupid, doubt it will happen. If it was China then maybe, but Australia is a democracy.

Well, epic blocked the ip for players in China so they have to use vpn for it.

Well the game IS violent. Violence != blood and gore, after all. This is a game about hunting down and shooting other people. Can't get upset about that description.

As for banning it, well, there are plenty of shooters that aren't banned in Australia so I don't see why this would lead to that.

Perhaps fortnite is too addicting to kids not just the cartoonish violence. Some games like GTA isnt banned yet.

A Current Affair isn’t a new outlet, it’s the Fox News of Australia

It won’t be banned because it isn’t violating any laws, and isn’t harmful.

If your kid plays fortnite 24/7, try being a more engaging parnet or just stop them.

yeah exactly, if your kid is playing fortnite all the bloody time, step in and be an actual parent lmao

PUBG is what I would consider having “violence.” Fortnite is what I would consider having “cartoon violence” (The name is something like that I am pretty sure). They can’t ban it, people would be running out of their houses and ranting on the streets (an exaggeration, but you get the idea)...

No, that is ridiculous. I find it absolutely hilarious how they added the unnessesary sound effects in and how they talk to make it sound like a game that will literally kill your children

I sent that article to my Australian friend. She said if it happened, she would organize a school walkout protesting it.

This is a good idea, I was thinking about the protests if the game is banned.
