Desktop-hiding software

Seems kind of niche, but is there a software where I can press say, Ctrl + Alt + I and then have my desktop icons disappear until I press that again? just because I like shortcuts but don't want them always there.

I also make folders on the desktop, and I can put a group of things in there that I only open when I am doing that task. For example maybe I have some directories of photos/video/music I work with so I put them in a folder. I have one with utilities for checking memory, cpu id, test programs, widows admin stuff, just things I'd use for PC maintenance that I only use once in a while. Then I only have one icon for it.

Actually there also used to be a keystroke that would turn on your screen saver, or screen lock. People used it at work to blank the screen when they went to do something lol.
