Fav Ice Cream?

DanDan825

Ya know, after some long hours of gaming/streaming, you just want to have a nice cold sweet treat. You walk to your freezer, and see an array of ice cream flavors. Which one do you pick?

Edit: Holy guac guys look at all the comments

Coffee FTW. Add some brownie bits, chocolate chips, a little bit of chocolate syrup, maybe a crushed up Snickers Bar for maximum chocolate flavor

I even have the ability to make my own ice cream now. I’d gladly take homemade stuff over store-bought any day

My family has been experimenting with home made ice cream for a couple years now. Can't remember the last time we bought store brand.

Our favorite so far is a dark chocolate ice cream made with Cold Stone Sweet Cream Creamer and Hersey's Special Dark Cocoa. Sometimes we add shavings of white chocolate, or peppermint bark during the holidays.

I've also made a really good pistachio ice cream. I tried my hand at mountain dew ice cream... which turned out terrible. But now that Pepsi has re-released Mountain Dew baja blast, I'm going to be try it again as a carbonated sherbet.

We have a few dozen other favorites we love.

MY personal favorite is when my in-laws come up and bring fresh milk straight from the cow. By the time they get here the cream separates nicely and I make an incredibly rich vanilla bean ice cream.

excuse me... I need to... ahh... go see whats in the freezer...

I wish I could make my own ice cream, pistachio sounds delicious... With your varieties you should start a business!

heheh they aren't made in large batches, about a quart each time.

We use a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker. Thing works incredibly well!! The initial batch is more like soft serve, depending on how long you let it mix. I like to put it in the freezer for a few hours to harden it up. Wife and kids like it much softer.

and the base recipe for ice cream is cheap. Heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, salt.... that's basically it.

Your Iceceam is ACTUALLY ice cream, who knows what they put in the store bought ones....

Growing up, my family would go on summer vacation every year for three weeks. My dad was/is a life time member of Thousand Trails, and we would go to this camp ground called Lake of the Springs.

The camp ground had a little country store that sold Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream sandwich bars called Dollar bills (or something like that). They were by far the most delicious things I had ever eaten.

We stopped going on family trips when I entered 7th or 8th grade, and since then have rarely ever found mint chocolate chip in sandwich form. And the carton stuff just never tasted as good.

Now, I'm sure the goggles of youth have skewed my vision, but I just can't eat mint chocolate chip ice cream without remembering those summers, and it just doesn't compare.

I still love mint chocolate chip, and now with kids of my own we have started a summer tradition where the wife and I make our own. And every year we try and make it as close to what I remember as possible. Including making the sandwiches from scratch.

we are very close.

Actually, a freezer full of ice cream is dangerous for me, as it is my favorite dessert to eat. Especially chocolate, but I'll eat just about any ice cream. (I've even had pickle ice cream before. Not as bad as it sounds...)

Snickers flavored ice cream, especially when it has alot of snickers inside, sometimes ill buy a pint of vinalla and add 3 snickers bars in it to make it even taste better.

Which is why ( unironically ) iv'e been boycotting DQ because they thought it was a great idea to remove it because " disagreements ", taking away the best flavor of ice cream with no remorse, for shame DQ FOR SHAME!

I have not been to dairy queen in years lol. I just go to regular Ice cream places. Thats a shame though. I tried Snickers once. It was not really good, but It was probably just the parlor. I try another place soon!

MCC is good, a few years back they were making candy ice cream. They had an oreo flavor, snickers flavor, reeses, etc. One was mint with chocolate syrup and m&ms. It was the best, after a while I could not find it anymore. A really good vanilla is great, and great with home made maple syrup on it, or chocolate of course. When I was a kid we made it all the time, I used to crank it. Home made is really good stuff. I should get a maker but I try to not eat that much of those kinds of things. They do have MCC sandwiches here, yum, mint klondikes too.

  • 1 point

you used to crank it.. aww Mint chocolate chip will always have a special place in my heart. Iv eaten the ice cream before , but it was always my favorite water ice flavor.

  • 1 point

Crank it, it was manual ice cream! No electrical joy, we burned calories. And it was dangerous, like a car without stability control....

  • 1 point

eyes widen with new reality wow im sure that icecream paid off...

  • 1 point

Hey that was almost maximum effort on my part. Have to say homemade ice cream, bread, all kinds of foods can be way better. When I was a kid people/family had cookouts and all the old ladies would bring stuff, you could not keep me away. Its more of a lost art now because everyone works.
