First Build, looking for suggestions

Hey I'm looking to build a pc that will be used mainly for gaming and VR. I plan on getting a 1440p 144hz monitor to go with it, not sure if this is a good build for that.

This is what I have picked out so far, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or changes that they would make.

I also have a compatibility note that has to do with my motherboard power connector and my psu, just wondering if that will be an issue. I don't plan on over clocking.

And do I need the CPU cooler? I believe the CPU I have picked out comes with one.

The 3800X has only a marginal benefit for gaming, so as mark5916 suggests, you might as well stick to the 3700X.

The Arctic cooler you list is fine for a 3700X. The Dark Rock Slim would be a bit better for both temps and noise.

Ignore that note about the additional 4-pin CPU power connector. No existing Ryzen CPU draws so much that you'd ever really need it.
