My very first budget build-any thoughts?

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/pyN7TC Hello guys,

I'm planning to buy and build my very first PC . Since I'm not by any means an expert I would really appreciate any opinions on what components should I change so I can build myself a good PC. Please note that I already reached my budget so any expensive upgrades are unfortunately not possible.

Thank you!

So, first of all, I got rid of the the wifi card and replaced it with wifi that's built into the motherboard (that should come with bluetooth too!), which brings the cost down. I also put in a 1660 super, which performs very similarly to the 1660ti, but is quite cheaper. With that I also put in a bigger ssd and a hdd. I also put in a 3 pack of rgb fans to fill the fan slots on the case.

Thank you for the reply, the only reason I choose the motherboard without inbuilt wifi is because I already have Asus AC68 (I got it for free from my friend who doesn't need it anymore). Do you think the motherboard I choose (Gigabyte B450 Aorus elite) is good enough? Also, I checked the SSD you put in your version and I'm confused because there are 2 versions of it (one is M.2 2280 and the other is 2.5" SATA). Which one is better for me? Thank you again for helping me :)

Oh, ok. I didn't know that. I think the mobo you put is ok, but there is actually a better one thats cheaper, at least going off of the vrm tier list (the b450m-pro4 ). Honestly for the ssd, both should be around the same speed (for doing most tasks). I just chose the m.2 because it was cheaper at the time. What ever fits in your price range and is cheapest should be good (at least in ssd form factor imo).

I'd try to get higher clocked ram. It runs better with ryzen. Also get a Western Digital HDD.

  1. Add a HDD.
  2. Consider the 1660 super.
  3. Get a cheaper wifi adaptor.

Well, I got the adapter for free from my friend who doesn't need it anymore so this solves one problem :) May I ask which HDD would you recommend?

Im sorry but no. The 1660 super is a ripoff and theres no point to getting it.

Why do you say that?

(it's close to a 1660TI, but at a more affordable price)

  • Case with a meshed front panel and 3 preinstalled fans (the P300 has a closed front panel and only 2 fans)
  • Motherboard with integrated wifi
  • Faster SSD
  • Cheaper GPU
  • System power 9 is mediocre, switched it for something more solid
