What is a good anti virus besides Norton? Something that doesn’t hijack my system?

If you are using Windows 10 just use the build in Antivirus Windows Defender. That and having Malwarebytes Free install to run a scan now and again, I don't let in run in the back ground, and you will be fine.

Kapersky + malwarebytes. both the free versions. works perfectly for me. occasionally run a scan with malwarebytes once a month or so and you're fine.

My usual recommendations are the free versions of either Bitdefender or Kaspersky.

Even Windows Defender (if using windows 10) with an occasional scan with Malwarebytes Free is probably fine these days.
