i am using A4Tech PK-635 webcam. It's video resolution is 640x480. it can be up to 8MP.
i installed driver but resolution still didn't change. How can i chage resolution to 8MP?
Do yourself a favor and just get a decent quality webcam
Only with an application that supports image interpolation.
And what does image interpolation?
It stretches the size of the image and does generate pixels to fill in the blanks. That has nothing to do with the webcam as it works software based and not hardware based.
Normally the software that comes with the webcam should be able to digitally enhance the quality of the picture. So that 8MP means that the webcam itself doesn't have that capability, but the software can upgrade the quality of the photos to 8MP. If the software of the cam isn't able to do that, then you must use 3rd party software tool.
Some tools does produce quite good results and some others awful results.
And in the most part interpolation that is software based does suck, as the most applications does lack the proper gamma correction and other features like smoothing, inverting and gray scale conversion to name a few.
Imagine the picture you're getting by shooting with a digital camera with an optical vs digital zoom.
The optical zoom does produce results by the lens of the camera and it's processed from the capabilities of the camera as a unit, and the digital zoom is achieved by enlarging the image once it has been captured.
And that exactly what the most interpolation software does that comes with a webcam.
Downside, the end image does lack quality!
So before down voting someone, you should know what software interpolation means and does!
