My planned build is as follows: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Type Item Price
CPU Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor £155.94 @ Aria PC

Storage Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £36.00 @ Aria PC
Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card £225.32 @ Scan.co.uk
Case Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case £44.99 @ Amazon UK
Power Supply XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply £44.11 @ CCL Computers
Optical Drive Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer £11.32 @ CCL Computers
Wireless Network Adapter Asus PCE-N15 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter £11.99 @ Aria PC
Total
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available £675.61

I found this competitively priced system on eBay:

Would it be achievable to purchase this system and only add in the GPU, CPU cooler, wireless card and (I assume) the PSU myself? It would make me a saving of around £30-£40 with the only downside I can see be a motherboard downgrade?

well when its basic computers i doubt the power supply you need will even fit inside that case and its doubtful if it has a place for a wireless card and a GPU, it would be better to build what you have planned because most likely you will have to buy a new PSU, case and mobo and cpu cooler
