I currently own a Hanns-g 27.5" monitor at 1920X1200 that i wish not to get rid of. So my question is if i should upgrade to the Asus pb278q monitor for my second monitor or a 1080p. They no longer make 27" 1200p monitors so im kind of out of luck at that resolution.

Thanks for any help.

I'm in love with my PB278Q. Depends on your GPU setup though as 1440p is 78% higher resolution than 1080p.

If you find that you really need more FPS, you can afford to drop your MSAA down without hurting your image quality since higher resolution essentially acts like hardware-based anti-aliasing.

Yeah i have a GTX 770 and probably will upgrade it soon since ive had it for a while. If i get get respectable FPS in some games i could just game on the 1200p anyways.

Not sure if this is a question or a suggestion. If you've already got a 770, instead of upgrading, wouldn't it be cheaper and better performance to get a 2nd one for 2-way SLI (assuming your MOBO can support it)?

Yes this is true and my motherboard can support it. The problem is my psu, as its only 650 watts. I'd have to upgrade to a 750 watt psu to support sli.

How far away do you sit? I've been looking at that exact monitor for gaming but my desk is pretty shallow.

Hello,

Would a 780 6gb handle 1440p? Also, do you experience any ghosting or latency issues with your monitor?

Thanks.

A 780 would. However you should really try to research benchmarks to find your answer.

I have no complaints about my monitor.

If your gpu is anything lower than a R9 280x or GTX 760 get a 1080p If you have a GTX 770 or R( 290 and gigher get 1440p.

I own a GTX 770 and probably will upgrade to a 800 series at some point. Anyways if i cant get good FPS on a certain game i could always just game on the 1200p.

Hi guys.

Will the Asus PB278Q be a good monitor for my build?
