Company of Heroes 2 Game RIg

Original post below. So I decided to have a little fun here. I've got a blank wall above my desk that backs to an unfinished laundry room (meaning studs are exposed). I could mount a PC to the wall and run power, video cables, etc behind the wall easily. So I am thinking of something like this: http://www.overclock.net/t/1460322/gallery-wall-mount-rig-maxxplanck-mini-completed

That said, I watched a couple reviews on the XFX Radeon R9 295X2 8GB Core Edition Video Card and it is a little loud for an open case. I was also hoping to keep the footprint to a minimum, so would like a quieter graphics card without liquid cooling if possible.

Also, review on the MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard mention low sound volume issues with the onboard audio. I would rather avoid an additional sound card. So any thoughts there?

Hi all,

Please suggest a build. I only have one thing in mind:

Company of Heroes 2. Do not go by their specs. Do a little research. Here's a couple starting points:

Budget: $1500

Location: USA - Chicago

Peripherals required (monitor, keyboard/mouse, etc): None, just computer

Operating System required: Windows 7 or 8.1

As small a form factor as possible. Don't want desk or under-desk clutter.

No used parts.

Thanks all. I only have time to waste on one game. I love COH2. Tried first person shooters, but I get motion sick :(

Surprisingly an i5 seems to be a great bet for this game and your use case. Here's a version that would be intended for serious overclocking. Since you're in Chicago, we could get some of these parts cheaper at your local MicroCenter. If you need help building it let me know; I'm just a hop away in Rockford.
