Great monitor, but at 4k 144Hz, you have to use 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, which makes text (or anything high contrast, really) look like garbage.
It's really a 98Hz monitor if you want full chroma and HDR. And it's 120Hz if you are willing to give up HDR. As far as I'm concerned this is a 120Hz monitor, because it's just too jarring to look at the subsampled chroma channel.
It's not Asus' fault, though. It's the cabling standard. DisplayPort 1.4 just can't push enough bits to make 144Hz HDR at 4k.
Love it, performance it is great and the colors are amazing.
