This board has all the bells and whistles. It has so many features i dont know half of them! The rgb is awesome but could have a little bit better placement. The armor over everything is cool but has a downside for wire management. I wish they would have made little tunnels or channels to hide wires.

I wanted Asus Aura so that RAM and GPU LEDs are all synchronized with the motherboard automatically and I love Asus Bios (I think they are better than other brands in this area) and they are durable. Maximus X series is a bit expensive but they look sick and have quality components. The main reason I chose Code over Hero is that it has onboard bluetooth and wireless (though it seems there is also Hero Wi-Fi AC version but I could not find it locally) and Formula only has water blocks in addition which is useless for me. I also needed internal USB TYPE-C socket for my case.

The holy grail of Z370 motherboards. Haven't had any problems with it. Connections were plentiful, overclocking was a breeze, and it's a showpiece in itself.

It's very hard for me to look at motherboards due to how many USB ports I actually need, 8. For all the things I have that are USB connections, along with the fact I really believe 3.0 is better than 2.0. The onboard sound is far better than I had expected and I deeply love it with my headset. I don't much care for the wifi or anything wireless like others do, but if I decide insanity is nice I can make it link to something like google home or Alexa. So there is that. RGB is minimal compared to others, VRAM heatsink is good, there's just nothing I have to say about this board that is bad. It does as it's told, it's easy to overclock on and get things running. BUT it does not take a PWM connection or option for fans and pumps at all. Could just be that I need to update my bios, but I don't want to, because I'm perfectly fine with what I have and this does it's job.

This motherboard is overkill, but after a sour experience with an ASRock Z97 Extreme4, I wanted to ensure that I would not have any problems in that department. Clean and organized UEFI and a great overclocking motherboard. Has the exact amount of I/O I need and all the headers I could ever use.

Tons of OC options. I love the UEFI BIOS. Asus is another brand that's always been reliable for me.

Don't go with Asus, because if you have problems, they can't help you, their service is the worst out of the bunch, go gigabyte or msi, at least they will stand behind their product! I only got this motherboard because they couldn't fix my X99 Strix Gaming Motherboard, After 3 RMA's!!!
