Good budget B450 motherboard that works great. BIOS is not too confusing too. I do wish that it had an adressable RGB header on it though.

Running this with a Ryzen 5 2600 and it's a nice MOBO that's easy enough to navigate for my needs. Personally I wish the LEDs had a frosted filter over them or something since the eight individual lights could look better but that's not what you buy a motherboard for, at least not this one.

from completed build Value build, no flashy, no rgb.

Guided mostly by this chart and some reviews from youtube I went for the tomahawk b450 because I had the feeling it was the best option for a midrange build. It can handle new generation ryzen processors, no pcie 4.0 tho.

Simply put, great MOBO. The rgb backlight as well as the headers all work nicely in sync, and it looks very good in my case with that smooth metal finish. Had no problems building with it, the manual was very helpful in showing were the fan headers and everything else was, and it supports my build very well. The BIOS is easy to work with and in conclusion I have no complaints.

I've had two of these, by far the biggest regret of my build. I returned the first one and would've returned the second one if replacing mobos wasn't such a pain in the butt. The onboard audio on both of them died within about 30 minutes, even when run outside the case with no electrical interference. A friend with the same board had the same problem. MSI's support basically said keep returning them ¯_(?)_/¯ . This only has one m.2 slot and no a-rgb headers, only 12v but all that being said the vrm cooling is pretty good.

I was able to get my 2600x stable at 4.1ghz at 1.38v, I don't think that's great but ofc could have been the CPU itself.

All in all it's okay I guess if you already have a sound card or only use headphones, otherwise personally I would never buy this thing again.

I decided not to skimp out on the motherboard, even though I could have easily gotten a $70 board to just get by with, since I plan to OC I needed a board with good SOC voltage and heat sinks. The B450 line-up also makes life easier being 2000 series compatible and having a much better QVL list for ram. The bios are also very easy to navigate and use, especially for a first time builder. Additionally, the board has a nice black aesthetic to it, so that is always a plus. However, I do wish that it came with ac wifi, but that is the next step up in motherboards I guess with the MSI Carbon series. Sadly I was not able to get a deal below MSRP on this board since it is so new still.
