Nothing special here really, it just does what a CD drive is suppose to do, it reads pretty fast. i don't really use CD drives that much anyways.

I can't get my old head around why people wouldn't need an optical drive. Haven't the kids today heard of CDs and DVDs? Why this model? Everyone else got one.

It's a DVD drive. You'll need one eventually. Quiet loud, but do you know of a disc drive that isn't? No? Buy the cheapest one unless you need blu-ray.

Very noisy, and a bit overpriced, but I needed it in a pinch and it was the cheapest thing at Best Buy. It does its job and would be a good deal for maybe $10 less, but for $30 I'd like it to be a little quieter. I shouldn't wake up my friends when they're sleeping a room over.
