It's an optical drive. It works fine. I just got it for any driver disks that I might need to install; that or any old games on disks that I want to play. I just couldn't convince myself that not getting one would have been a good choice.

It's an optical drive the reads and writes DVDs and CDs, not much more to say about it than that. Except for the fact that it is pretty loud when burning a disc. I pulled this from an old system so that might just be a sign of it's age. I will be replacing with with a Blu-ray burner at some point.

Hilariously loud when burning a disc but got the job done and was there when I needed it. Also, it doesn't hurt to have one just in case you find an old CD game.

Pros: Easy to install and works. Simple
Cons: If you don't have a program for it already (example, VLC media player) you will need to find one online. Easy fix
