What can you expect from a 5400RPM 2.5 inch drive? Not a whole lot! But this drive is like the trusty fast food joint that always gets your meal right. Sure it's not the finest, most luxurious drive in the world. But it's cheap and you can fill it up with a bunch of stuff.

Found it in a cabinet. Not that fast but you can't beat free.

This actually isn't the drive that I got, but the closest I could get on Part Picker here. I got the newest one of the same model, pretty much. Anyways, a hard drive is a hard drive right? Nice slim, little drive that I wanted. It was exactly what I needed and was looking for. My only complaint was the complete lack of screws and anything useful. Probably because it was OEM. No where was it specified that it was OEM on purchase, but oh well. Not sure what the deal is, but the boot time is INSANE! I haven't actually timed it, but it can't be more than 20 seconds.

It's 2018. The only reason I have this is because I use it as a backup. If you are considering purchasing this ,don't. No one uses 500gb and/or 5400rpm drives anymore...

First, wow this drive is reliable. It is over 5 years old now and has been in 3 computers and swapped out many times, and wiped many more. This drive is not fast, but gets the job done and has not had one hiccup. Good job WD, does what it is supposed to.

Not as exciting as an SSD.....but hey it does the job loading Win 10 and that's just fine with me.

This HDD is fine as long as you don't take it out of a used laptop and put it in your PC, lol

I don't dislike this hard drive, I bought it a year before I built my PC and it works fine, it's just a little slow and has half the storage you can find for the price I paid a year ago ($50).

Works well, considering it is from 2014. Going to upgrade to a 1-2TB SSD

Have been using it for 6 years on 4 different systems (3 laptop, 1 desktop). Still works like new. For this price it is a reliable unit.
