I just feel as though sacrificing better performance for something that may or may not happen in the future is a bit--moronic (as harsh as that may sound). Also, it may be cheaper to buy a 64gb kit opposed to buying 3 extra 16gb sticks. So if he were to get dual channel. Also, what if he wants faster timings? He is basically locked in at 3000mhz, which is pretty ironic considering he is thinking about future expansion. To elaborate on this, if he keeps this stick than he is locking himself into getting corsair ram, and 3000mhz timings. If he were to get a 2x8gb kit and plan on selling, he would get some of his money back, and the freedom to get whatever timing/brand he wants. That is more expansion friendly if you really analyze it. We can't assume that when he is ready to upgrade to 64 that he will want to keep the same brand, or if there won't be new ram with insane timings that he may want to splurge on. It would be better for him to take advantage of duel configuration now, and then sell later on to get the kit... Also, it is healthy to assume things when discussing something hypothetical, because in reality that's all this conversation is. He may or may not even upgrade, and who knows... he may just switch to a dual config down the road. Lol

It's not recommended to combine sticks of ram from different kits. There may be compatibility issues/other random issues with timings and stuff. It's usually recommended to buy a single kit for optimal compatibility. Also in the future, if he wants to buy better ram with better timings, he will have to sell anyway. So your point really makes zero sense.

I love this build so much. It's seriously so cool. I wish I could attempt a custom loop. Built my first ever pc about two and a half weeks ago, and ever since then I have been itching to build another one. My next build will definitely feature a custom waterloop.

I'm gonna be honest, my immediate thought when seeing this build was, "how the **** is this featured?" Then I clicked on the post, saw the pictures, and read the description. I now fully understand the feature, and I'm really impressed by the amount of mods you have done to the case. The whole thing about airflow is really smart as well. Nice build overall my man! +1 for sure!

Hey, it's all good man. I fixed it. I made a big deal out of nothing. So, turns out (I'm a little embarrassed to be saying this) but I forgot to plug the SATA cable from the power supply into the drive itself... It was 3 AM when I was routing the cables to the build, and I guess I just flat out forgot. Sorry for wasting your time. I really appreciate the timely and detailed responses you have been giving me. If I had a real problem (and wasn't just an idiot) they would have helped a lot. Thanks man! Hope you enjoyed that long weekend of yours :)

Oh I see. Lol want to hear something funny? I just built my first ever desktop pc last Thursday. I start building it, and I get to where I have to apply thermal paste. I scrub the pre applied thermal paste off of the cooler, and go to apply the paste, and I apply wayyyy too much. So Instead of just plopping the cooler down and let it spread naturally, I decided to try and spread it out myself with the tip of the tube... safe to say literally a quarter of the chip wasn't covered at all. Me, thinking it would suffice, plopped the cooler on and left it at that. I go to boot up for my first time ever, and I get an error message saying my cpu is over 89 C. I ignore it, and boot into windows. I download all my various apps and programs (while runningn 89 C at idle) and then I download CAM. I open CAM up, and my CPU temps shoot to 101 degrees. I **** you not. I immediately turned off the system and fixed it, but safe to say I was scared shitless LOL.

Woah. 80 is pretty high isn’t it? Idk if I’d be comfortable with my cpu being in the 80s. Then again though, I have a limited knowledge of cpu temps so I could be wrong.

I would personally highly recommend the 27 inch version. I literally just built my first ever pc, and I came from a laptop with a 17 inch 60hz tn panel. You will be extremely happy with the 27 inch version. I am a little biased because I have this monitor, but it’s really damn good. Also, the 27 inch version goes on sale for $350 on occasion. I think it has dropped to that price like 3 times in two months or so. When are you building your pc? If you’re in no rush to buy a monitor, I would wait until it’s the last part you need to get, just in case it goes on sale again.

Wow. Thanks man. I just gave the article a read and it’s really solid. I’m about to sound REALLY stupid right now, but what does overclocking a cpu do? Just increase speeds in general right? If so, idk if I need to. I’d imagine I wouldn’t see a very big increase in performance during gaming.

Hey man, I have some more questions. Sorry to bother you. I went into the BIOS and I have no idea what this stuff means. Will you please be able to help me out? I have taken some pictures of what I am seeing. I decided to hold off on following your original advice to just unhook the HDD because I have no idea what I am doing lol. Also, what do you mean by a blank install of windows 10? Is that just the same thing I did upon building the system? Also, how do I delete the windows OS from my HDD? After I install it on my ssd, it will be on my ssd and my hdd. Also, what do you mean by format the hdd? Sorry. I am asking so many questions. I just really want to get his figured out, as I payed quite a bit for this SSD and it would be pretty stupid if I wasn't able to take advantage of it due to my incompetence.

P.S: Sorry for the God-awful picture quality, it was off of my phone.

Awesome. Thanks man! I will try that when I get home. I can reach the SATA cable just fine. It’s more of an inconvenience. My cable management is so bad that I have to force my back panel on, and it is pretty hard to get on/off. So I wanted to avoid it as much as possible but I might as well open it up now. Good cable management will help me in the long run so I might as well.
