There are aftermarket cooler options for that r9 290. There is the arctic accelero xtreme iii which I put on my gpu keeps the card pinned at 75 degrees unfer 100% load. There is also the nzxt g10 and the corsair hg10 that are brackets for cpu liquid coolers. Both will solve your r9 290 issue

If that r9 290 is bugging you I would suggest the arctic accelero xtreme iii. I put it on and temps stay between 70-80 full tilt at 50% fan speed. The intructions were also very good on several different forums. The other option is the hg10 and nzxt g10 but those do not come with a cooler and are missing vrm cooling.

Really love the build. This build could also be so much better with a few minor things. Besides this love the custom painted heatsink.

Can you please do an all black stealth pc? Just replace the fans with silent wings fans from be quiet or some other all black fans. You should also plastidip the pci brackets black too. All in all it is a great build

Hey bud I don't think you want to bank on the 1080ti coming out anytime soon. Especially with that vr headset you have. I would just look for a used r9 290x,390x, gtx 970 or gtx 980 to fill in. Great build though

Yes for the tentacle por (can't put in the last letter because it gets bleeped). Love these kinds of builds with those nice led fans and the aio cooler on the cpu and gpu.

Put a 200mm fan in the front. It will bring in much more air into that small system. Also a blower cooler on the gpu would be a much better solution.

RIP eardrums. Yeah I had a similar situation. I bought a used reference r9 290 off a guy. When I heard the eeviews of the stock cooler being load I thought they were exaggerating but no they weren't. Ended up ripping the sucker off and putting on a arctic accelero xtreme 3 which makes the card run 20 cooler and I can't even here over my case fans. Cheers for a baller htpc.

Rest in piece ear drums. You probably want to find an aftermarket cooler for that card such as the arctic accelero xtreme 3 or a hg10 and aio cooler.

I have always wanted to see someone do a watercooling build in that case because it looks awasome. Shame about that reservoir that hides some of your pc. Is there some way you could get a smaller on and put it on the bottom beside your psu? Other than that it is beautiful.

I feel you man. I had an r9 270 before I upgraded to a r9 290 with arctic accelero xtreme 3. Please do that cpu some justice and buy a decent aftermarket cooler and overclock that sucker. One of the easiest and cheapest ways to upgrade is buy used off of craigslist or ebay. As long as you are a smart buyer you should be fine.

Oh no. You have a unlocked processor with a motherboard that cannot overclock. Bad mistake. You also have a reference r9 290. I would either put an arctic accelero iii xtreme cooler on it or a nzxt g10 with a liquid cooler and some memory heatsinks. Definetly get another r9 290 for surround. The Micro-atx might be tight but it has been done
