Hey, can I ask what the end table you set your PC on is called? I have the same desk and am looking to pick one up for my PC
Yep, can confirm there is a dark mode. When in the BIOS, look under advanced and then Power options. I did not cover up the yellow strip completely, so I could still see a sliver. When dark mode is off, it is lit up, when dark mode is on, it is not. So you should be good if you want to use that. Only thing is, the debug that shows CPU temp will stay on, but i'm sure there's a way to turn that off too if you really wanted.
I have not heard of it, and it will be hard for me to check, because I already have the electrical tape on, but im gonna hop into the bios right now and look.
I used electrical tape, just covered it right up. It was black tape so it just blends right in.
Im pretty sure you can, I can check when I get back but that's not until Wednesday... But I am almost sure I remember someone saying they did it because they didn't like the aesthetic
Amazon or Newegg
yep, they are pretty good and I think they especially wanted LED fans because of the way this case is designed with the glass :)
I don't overclock my CPU's, but you could probably get up to about 4.5/4.6 with this cooler.
Case fan's are not loud at all, they are the fans that came with the case, it came with four of them. Really nice :)
Nope, got the K version in case down the line I do want to, but I just don't need to leech the maximum performance out of it, its already overkill as it is.
26 Idle and 54 under load, amazed, blows my 120mm AIO out of the water, seriously.
Ill run some stress tests right now, gonna be honest from first sight, It does better than my 120mm AIO on my other build. Really impressed.
Lol, really nice case and am excited I am the first :P Uploading sick pictures right now, might want to check them out in like 10mins.
That goes to show how much money they make on these CPUs, thats probably near cost to make price, pretty cheap compared to how much they charge :D
He isn't asking if he should upgrade, he is asking the difference between the two so he can get the better one IF he were to. I'm only saying this because I wondering the same thing, except upgrading from a 750ti LOL
This is gonna be a really... really... really... weird question but...
Did the mobo come with the MSI Dragon plush? LOL IKR weird questions
Nice build, and thanks.
I dont know what the story is, but the monitor is a G-sync monitor. I dont know if he got the 970 or the monitor first but he spent some money on the monitor he probably wanted a compatible graphics card
I guess I got here right as the featured box was updated lol
HELL YA! A RED AND BLACK MANTA BUILD! Amazing... been waiting for someone to do this as I am planning on doing it myslef, 1+
The GPU might not be the best performing by far... however only taking up 1 expansion slot lookes friggin fantastic, like really makes it look so cool. +1 cus everything is kewl
I mean seriosuly, fantastic build. Love that it can be hidden in plain sight kinda lol.
Congrats on the feature! Haha, I refreshed the page and your build was featured just then. Welcome to the PC Master Race lol
Ahh.. yes, The same confusion I had when I built my Skylake PC :P You alright, I was SUPER confused on this. If you look at an X99 motherboard, chances are there are 8 DIMM slots for RAM. This is quad channel. For dual channel, you only have 4 DIMM slots. 2 DIMM slots seems to equal 1 channel so therefore dual channel can have 4 ram sticks, which would be dual channel.
Loving the way people find Black and White color schemes with MSI +1 for that! Mind checking out mine? Good Luck!
Wow. I'm liking the color scheme. It's hard to bull of anything that isn't Red/Black with MSI Main Components, so props to you! Good luck!
Will do! Thanks!
Fair enough. Have a nice day.
Agreed with Alpha. My build (Actually Named Alpha Lol) Uses the Seidon 120v and at Gaming and Streaming does not usually let my i5-6600k go above 70degrees. Fantastic AIO
That should definitely do the trick to max them out. But what @tomtomj2 said, why 12GB? Do you have the ram laying around or are you buying them? If you are buying them, I would just recommend 8gigs or spend a little extra for 16gigs. But 8gigs should be fine for maxing out games.
Im trying to get into FSX, but with the keyboard I have to get everything programmed right to do it correctly :)
Whoa... this is like deja vu. I am also an aviation enthusiast, and wannabe pilot. I also built a PC with a i5-6600k and a GTX 960. Although, I use mine for gaming primarily. Nice build +1 because aviation and good build.
Wait... $200 for your GPU? Thats what I paid for my 960 4gb.. How did you get that price? But really nice build, cant wait for pictures.
Nice build, love to see the i5-6600 CPU :P I have the i5-6600k, and I wont overclock until the CPU isnt performing the way I need a few years down the road. So therefore, I got the 6600k just for the extra 0.2Ghz, and It was only $10 than the 6600 you have here (I dont know how i got that good of a deal). Im jelly of the 970 as I went with a 960, because at the time of the build I didnt think about any VR and now that I have it I am regretting it but I will find a way :P +1 just for that haha. Cool to see that your build looks familiar part wise to mine.
Your Function < Form is exactly like me. While when i did do my build I went with a cheaper case than the one I really wanted, I have and had the same feelings. :P +1 for that and very solid budget build.
I dont get your point, because Intel performance at points can be WAY better than AMD. When it comes to durability, unless you are always traveling with your machine why does it matter?
Yeah last time I checked Sapphire didnt make gtx cards xD
My apologies, some things slip by me when typing. I meant to say I already went $40 over budget, sorry and thanks :P
My build might have been "So cheap" but when it comes to the budget I had I already went $40 so there was nothing I could do from there.
Haha Really nice setup you got there. What are you gonna use the build for? Also I liked the case mod and making the water cooler fit in when it shouldnt have, +1 for that. :P
Really cool cheap build. It doesent seem bad and someone could probably deal with it. Nice job and it was fun to read and see how cheap your can build your own computer that is somewhat decent. +1 for that!
Whoa my apologies apparently I didnt read. I wanted to go with a Nvidia because I love the GeForce Experience and didnt want to give that up for a little more performance. Sorry and Thanks!
I couldve gotten and i5-4690k or a FX-8350 to put a lot more money towards the GPU, which is why I said its not the most economical. But I am very happy with my decision. No SSD because of my budget, but it is on top of my upgrades list.
As for your Concern, Im currently monitoring everything closely and will continue to do so for a while. After then ill stay alert just in case. The only issue I see with the PSU is upgrading anything but the RAM or an SSD which will come in later. When it comes time to Overclock the CPU, Upgrade the CPU, or Upgrade the GPU a new PSU will accompany it. Thanks!
$890 was my firm budget, and to get any of the Skylake i5s I had to go with a GTX 960. It meets my needs and I didnt feel that I needed a 970 for what I do. When I do upgrade anything other than RAM or possibly adding an SSD I will get a new PSU to accompany whatever that is. I had to go with this PSU because of my budget, and it worked with some extra wiggle room.
I did not have the budget for either of those and the 960 is all I need for what I do.
Thanks! Sorry not very savvy when it comes to the PSUs :P It didnt really matter for me so thats why I said that haha
Does the CPU work fine for gaming being that it doesent overclock, and would it be worth it to get the K? I'm looking at a build and the 6600 would save me $40 being that it has a stock cooler and it's cheaper, so would you recommend this CPU?
