Tyler_Reed1015's Completed Build: AMD $850 Gaming Build

DerplePurp 2 points 15 days ago

s340 is an outdated case; the H500 is the replacement.

richonnem1's Completed Build: First PC Build

DerplePurp 1 point 16 days ago

At high settings and not using the APU there is little to no benefit from dual channel. 1 stick would be better for future upgrading if he ever decides to do something that needs 32gb or more of ram.

supalash's Completed Build: Ryzen Vega

DerplePurp 2 points 1 month ago

How's the clearance with the graphics card and the front fans? I have a rog strix 1070 and I'm thinking about this case.

Tyro1453's Completed Build: My First Gaming Rig

DerplePurp 1 point 1 month ago

You could have got an rx 580 for the price of that 1050 ti or an rx 570 which is cheaper and faster than a 1050 ti

manirelli's Build Guide: Budget Home/Office Build

DerplePurp 1 point 2 months ago

A 970 pro is M.2 so it won't even POSSIBLY get in the way of airflow and even a 2.5" ssd won't get in the way of airflow if it's properly mounted in an ssd cage

JCMsergox's Completed Build: Mother War - A Black Parade Themed Build From PCPP's Official Emo Kid

You should try to overclock that monitor's refresh rate to around 75 hz. Anything above 60 looks and feels way smoother.

Narul071's Completed Build: The DREAM (i7-8700k/2080TiFE) -First Build

DerplePurp 1 point 3 months ago

They might help with your 3dmarkscore but not with your eardrums lol

Narul071's Completed Build: The DREAM (i7-8700k/2080TiFE) -First Build

DerplePurp 2 points 3 months ago

The fans aren't supposed to always run at 100% RPM, if you have a good fan curve they shouldn't be too loud and you will still get good thermals

valhund's Completed Build: Trooper Build

DerplePurp 1 point 3 months ago

No problem!

sdr.'s Completed Build: i7 8700K, MSI RTX2080 Gaming X Trio

DerplePurp 2 points 3 months ago

You could get an EVGA powerlink to make your gpu power cables less ugly, the only cost like 10 bucks

valhund's Completed Build: Trooper Build

DerplePurp 1 point 3 months ago

Any 240mm or 280mm from a known company with good reviews should work, but EVGA has a 280mm AIO that isn't too expensive and EVGA has amazing customer support and makes good stuff so I would get that.

valhund's Completed Build: Trooper Build

DerplePurp 1 point 3 months ago

I think the choice of the i7 7700k when the 8700k is already out (and outperforms it by a lot due to 2 more cores) is a bit odd, and you should have gotten an AIO with a much bigger radiator so that you can overclock farther. Also, 32 GB of ram is way excessive for gaming, as most games barely use of 8 gigs of ram, but if you're doing heavy workload stuff, then that's understandable

justinoh's Completed Build: Deadpool’s Bloodbath ( ?° ?? ?°)

DerplePurp 3 points 3 months ago

You can get a lot more power out of your CPU by using faster ram (3000 mhz+) and also the rx 580 is a much better value than the gtx 1060, getting the same performance in games and having more vram for a lower price

OnlineHost's Completed Build: Threadripper Final

DerplePurp -1 points 3 months ago

sorry, when I said that i was like dang why do you need such a beastly cpu I wasn't trying to be like "HOLY CRAP UR DUMB HAHA" I just should have payed more attention to the way I said it because you can't use tone of voice through text

elongatedmuskrat's Completed Build: Storm

DerplePurp 1 point 3 months ago

If it's going to be jedi vs sith then why are you using chewbacca... he's not a jedi haha

OnlineHost's Completed Build: Threadripper Final

DerplePurp -4 points 3 months ago

Holy crap dude why do you need a threadripper? If you're going to be using it for gaming you could have saved a lot of money and gotten a cheaper cpu that would have better gaming performance and then gotten a better gpu like a 1080 ti

Lizwardo's Completed Build: Nice upgrade from an MacBook Air

DerplePurp 1 point 3 months ago

Forum Topic "Are all of my parts compatible with each other?"

DerplePurp 1 point 4 months ago

Your parts are compatible but I would recommend swapping the SATA ssd for an m.2 and getting a high capacity HDD

andyinnie's Completed Build: My First PC

DerplePurp 1 point 4 months ago

yikes research why ryzen needs faster ram and get a refund on that ram asap you could benefit greatly from faster ram. also get a PCIe wifi card, USB wifi dongles have terrible latency and can increase your ping by several hundred. I know from experience. Other than previously mentioned facts the specs look great.
