Comment reply on Electroman01's Completed Build: Its not quite hard rubbish

RAM is good, I would definitely get 2 sticks though because they only run at half speed with 1 stick. If you don't plan on ever using more then 32gb of RAM then 2x8gb would probably be better

In your case it won't make much of a difference. I would recommend getting black RAM as it can go with almost any color scheme

I suggest you get a hard drive with a budget this size. Also, you didn’t include the operating system in that build which will add another 80 bucks to the total. Sorry I forgot about wifi but a wifi card is only about 30ish dollars i think. Ill redraft your list. Any particular reason why you chose that ram?

Technically this is possible but may involve a fair amount of tinkering. Depending on your skills in code (I'm not sure what language specifically) this could be achieved. What is the program that you are using currently?

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Ryzen 7 1700 vs 2700"

  • -1 points

Although more expensive, the 2700 is about 5% faster, has a higher base clock speed (3.2Ghz compared to 3.0) and can turbo 0.3GHZ faster (Up to 4.1Ghz). All Cache is the same with the exception of the 2700 having 1x 16mb of L3 Cache as compared to the 2x 8mb in the 1700 which equate to the same anyway. Unless you are hosting servers for the latest and greatest, the 1700 should do fine although if you want that little bit more and have the money, go for the 2700. What servers are you hosting?

How many PCIe lanes have you used? Sometimes M.2 slots share bandwidth with your PCI lanes used for your other device, eg your GPU etc.

I sit right next to the router so I know this isn’t the problem. I went and checked the actual card from the page I bought it from ebay and it states that it should support both 2.4 and 5ghz for pretty much all the wifi standards.

Heres the link

At a guess, I would think that the problem is not with the ISO but with the installation process. Have you tried just leaving the stick in after the installation and just not selecting it from the boot menu?

Comment reply on Forum Topic "I need help with a "no signal" problem"

A couple of things I think might be the issue: The cards don’t have enough power (unlikely) The Graphics card dosent support the resolution (also unlikely) Mother board dosent support the card (even more unlikely) Something has shorted while swapping cards. If theres another pcie slot, try that

I know its not much but from the top of my head they could be the problems

So are you trying to migrate an operating system? Or let me get this straight: You have a 1tb 860 and you want to copy your 500gb 850 to it. You then want to copy your laptop hdd to the 850 and use it as a boot drive for your laptop.

Firstly, to make matter and problem solving a little easier, have you triesd copying the contents of the 850 to the 860 in smaller amounts? Like 3 or 4 folders at a time or in 1-3gb blocks? That might make your life easier. Im not too great with migrating OS’s to another drive but when i do, i use a nifty program called Mini tool partition wizard. It has a migrate OS feature.

Tell me if you try this
