Does a DAC or amp provide better quality when compared to each other? Is there one you recommend over another (DAC, amp, speakers or a combination)?

I was going off the fact that on a YT video a single 1080 can almost double 980 performance and 2 1080s will assumingly at least double if not more a single 980 (depending on scaling). The build I have a list for and am planning will be a several year project and by the time it gets built there will be multiple new top dog cards that will do an even better job at this res.

I think games support it but it won't show until you actually have that resolution plugged in and ready to use.

Triple 1440p is 1.3x 4K so I guess you could just divide the 4K benchmarks by 2/3.

You are right those RAM fans are sick. About the fans, push pull, push, and pull offer very little difference in performance and can save you a bit of money.

Video about rad fan config performance:

https://youtu.be/QjYli6itP38

The usefulness of fans drops off a cliff past 4-5 of them on the chassis and it is easier to coordinate fewer fans. I currently have 3 on my 760T pushing out, and 3 pulling air in (bigger fans) and the temps will not get lower (I tested by removing one fan and put it back in after seeing no temp difference because I can lol). But the decision is not up to me and if you want a **** ton of fans go for it, but if it were me I'd maybe cut back on them just a bit.

Video on number of cases fans:

https://youtu.be/8OmkmluAYAQ

I highly recommend the channel from which these videos came if you ever need computer help, they have a video on EVERYTHING, if you didn't already know about it, Linus Tech Tips

IMO It looks pretty cool and when you get it built I would love to see pictures but I am wondering why you are planning on buying so many SP fans, you only really need 3 for the rad but why the others? I would assume a few are case fans but still you have quiet a few. Also, the RAM is rather pricey, I totally get wanting that RAM for the bragging rights and imo it looks really sick but for 500$ you might be able to pick another kit that's cheaper plus put a little money into another area. G-Skill has some cool red RAM kits that are relatively cheap (as DDR4 goes) if you want to go a bit cheaper, but if you wish for the Corsair Dominator Platinum name in your system (which is awesome) then go right ahead. But it wont preform much better for about 2.2x the price of another RAM kit at say 3000 MHz.

TLDR:

Why so many fans?

Why Dominator Platinum?

My current board sound is good (its some random Dell one from a prebuilt) so I would guess sound from a 330$ board will be better especially when hooked to better speakers than some random GE ones I have.

here is the link to the website, down a ways it says "Impedance. Not specified, probably very high since these have their own internal amplifier."

I will be waiting awhile to upgrade for sure, the 1080Ti will only be more expensive than the already pricey 1080. I plan on doing triple 1440p if I can so depending on how far they can push Pascal then a single might be all I need.

The minimal bezels, IPS panel and EXTREMELY low price compared to other 1440p monitors makes it ideal for multi monitor as it wont cost and arm and a leg. Maybe just an arm

I have 2 questions;

  1. How did you get one picture on each screen?

  2. Would you ever go from 3 panels to one ultrawide? I have 3 right now and flying flight sims is unreal, it is so immersing. The higher resolution, curve and refresh rate of a monitor like the LG 34UC88-B is very enticing and the screensplit software looks AMAZING, would it be worth it for you, honestly I wouldn't want to lose the insane FOV of 3 screens and the screen real estate you get with such a setup.

I plan on upgrading my PC over the summer, I have an SSD on my parts list right now but M.2 seems awesome and will match perfectly with the aesthetic of the upcoming PC . Was it difficult getting your OS on the M.2 or did you just clone it over? I don't know how boot drives work, can you explain how you got your OS on the 950 Pro?

How was it getting the 950 Pro M.2 drive to work? Do you have your OS on it? Was it worth the hefty price tag? I've been thinking about getting one for my next build instead of a normal SSD.

I like Corsairs style of having the tubes go straight into the block, the tubes hanging off the block are eh to me. The Kraken (X61 I believe is the one you are referring to) does look pretty cool but Corsairs tubes just look better imo, I like the rigid look to them. I know the silver may not look the best in the red/black theme, but I am betting that will be a little less outstanding when the NZXT Hue+ does is thing with the lights. I'm looking at some builds with the 100i GTX and N450 and the silver does seem to be drowned out and made way less obvious with lighting by even a few LED fans, let alone LED strips like the Hue has.

The 100i V2 doesn't have the RGB lighting and I really wanted that for a good aesthetic. So I'm guessing the paste just gets applied after you peel something off and stick it to the CPU or how does pre applied paste work? I've never heard of pre applied paste before.
