Very cool build. Black, white, and red are actually my favorite colors. If you like Star Wars maybe name it Ebon Hawk or maybe Delta-7. I'd like to see some pictures when you get that back plate! Enjoy!
Sorry to reply so late. It's actually for the white light on the inside.
I got them from frys electronics. They're just extension cables honestly.
These are just off the top off my head and what I remember.
Everything’s pretty much maxed out or almost maxed out
Tomb raider~ 90fps
That’s awesome dude!
I should’ve but I got the 4790k like 2 years ago. Ryzen seems great!
I know this is late but I just came across it on Craigslist.
That last picture made me so happy. lol Good job +11
I love how clean your setup is! gj! +111
Nice Build! Im jw. why didn't you put the gpu power cable through the basement cut out next to the ssd's?
Lol its cool
I like the build! My rig is always updating for the last 4-5 years and the years to come. At one point I was using a fx-4100 and was able to get it to 4.4ghz no problem cooling with a 212 evo. It worked great and about 2 years ago i switched to an i7 from the 8350. So much updating over the years and it's probably not going to end. haha keep up the good work! Get that 64 bit going and take advantage of the 16gb ram! (:
I think it was this one: http://amzn.to/24Wb4zB
I thought the name was some kind of metaphor or something.. It's actual cardboard. This is awesome! good job! i did something similar when i was waiting for my case too.
So many pictures! I like it! Good Job!
Yeah but it doesn't matter. If it works it works right?
That's true. lol that makes sense
OH. haha thats funny.
In their requirements, did you mean "It doesn't have to be an i7"? I like the small form factor.
This is amazing. I love all the pictures. I don't know how I feel about that thermal paste but its whatever. The organization and detail makes me happy. Good Job!
I'm pretty sure they didn't pay that much for the gpu. That's just the listing price online currently from a 3rd party on amazon.
Yeah the e3-1231 is basically an i7 without the igpu. Thanks (:
I love small form factor builds like this. The gpu does look really hot. I guess this is where those reference blower style gpu coolers come in handy. Great Job!!!
That's something you just have to figure out I guess? What I do is like with sata cables i keep them flat together. Also, if you have to make a big bundles, what I do is I bundle wires individually then zip tie all of them together. With my excess wires I just shoved them under the HDD's. Also try to leave a little slack so when you bundle the cables you're not accidentally yanking the cable out. That's the best advice I can give you.. Good Luck! and Have fun!
I only overclocked to 4ghz. It idles around 30-40. Depends on ambient(we turn off our ac on peak hours) and the highest I've really seen it was like 65(2 monitor+1 TV - running a movie+bf3+internet) gpu hit 60 as well.
Hahah that is a weird thing to understand. Yes I've built them computers and/or upgrade their old ones. Sometimes I upgrade there old ones and sell it for them. That's basically it if that makes sense. I mean yeah there are other ways I obviously provide for them but this is something I'm passionate about to help them with. No we don't have a computer shop haha that would be cool(we do have an antique shop) My job is to build really big servers btw. Some take me 6 hours to build and others take 10. But hey I get paid for it and I like it.
I did think about it. Haha
Haha thanks. It's part of my job. I build servers and the psu wires are ridiculously long for how small and flat the build is.
Not sure. I just randomly look on CL and fry's promo codes if I see a good deal that's worth it. Then I'll go for it. Like I found a 290x for 150 but right now I'm not playing that many games so I'm still deciding if I should get it. How it would benefit me. All of that. The only reason I can think of is to give my 680 to my brother. And take his gpu and put it in my gf comp. then take her gpu and put it in my dads computer.
Okay I won't haha. And good to know! Thanks
Oh see. Now that you clarified that, I understand. I got this cooler a while ago and I just haven't gotten rid of it. Since I already had this cooler, then what's the point of getting a new one. Just from my perspective. If I didn't have the h75 then I would have gotten the 212 Evo just cuz it's cheap for the performance. But if you think about it, the smaller aio coolers are great for compact builds like in m-itx cases(example:Antec isk600) that wouldn't guarantee the space or size of say a noctua nh-d14.
Haha thanks man
Yeah I think it was $50. I got it a while ago. Haha
Thank you. It means a lot. Especially being the first one you've commented on.
Something along the lines of "this is a 'curseword' feature"
Well. Unfortunately, I can't afford the best.
I was thinking about it!
Rustoleum High Heat Spray
:/ oh well. There's always going to be deals. I keep finding gtx 780s for around 200 but I don't need it. If I had a lower end card I would have went for it. Patience is key (: good luck!
I took the residue off the ram and replaced the thermal adhesive tape
I was going to paint the GeForce. But I ran out of tape... Haha
It's just painters tape from Home Depot. Doesn't leave any residue.
Ooo good idea.
Yeah.. Honestly, there are better builds out there no doubt. I enjoy looking at those custom water loops. I hope one day I make enough to do so myself. I wasn't expecting the feature, honestly. However, I don't make that much money and make do.. I couldn't be more proud of myself of my build and I'm so grateful for what I have. Considering 4 years ago I started off with a Dual Core AMD and a Sapphire 5670. The only thing I'm more proud of making than this build, is my Son. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and try to look forward to those Far Superior builds!!!
