I would wait till the line of processors come out from Intel Kabylake is what I think they are called. They use LGA1151 so you won't have to swap the motherboard. The only thing I am unsure of is when they will come out probably another 5 months so it all depends on how long u want to wait.
I didn't see any comments asking this, but I did scroll quickly. Why did you go with a 6500 and not a 6600k or 6700k? You payed a heafty amount of money in that z170 mobo and AIO and ur not getting anything out of it. Love the build though jealous AF.
K thanks I don't mind fingerprints too much as long as it doesn't scratch cough cough nzxt s340.
Wow didn't even think of that . I love the forums :)
Yeah and I am treat all my stuff very well and don't abuse it.
I am looking into ordering this case and water cooling in it because my s340 was scratched to death by a microfiber cleaning cloth. I was going to start out with that kit then work my way up to what you have now. I was wondering if the kit came with a good way to drain the system and fill the system or do I have to buy those parts myself?
No it was just sitting at my desk I may be over exaggerating but I am very picky.
Plus it gives me an excuse to spend more money on my PC :)
I have only had it for about 2-3 months. I noticed it was starting to get dirty so I cleaned it and now it looks like garbage especially when there is light on the case. I want to eventually do a watercooling loop once I get the cash and the S340 is a bit small so I guess there is a silver lining.
The microfiber cleaning cloth put marks in my window it looks like some tried to cut it with a chainsaw.
I think I am going to go with the Phantek Enthoo Evolv. I don't really like the look of the Define S it is too plane I would rather spend more.
I sanded down the paint and it came off easily so I am peeling it off.
Do I have to sand all of the paint of or just until the wrinkles r out?
I have the glossy one and it fingerprints like crazy! Then if and when you try to clean it it scratches. I tried to clean the back panel with microfiber but it scratched like crazy.
You cant clean the window. I used a microfiber cloth and it looks like I took a chainsaw to it. Also the side panels scratch easy. I have just been picking it up and moving it every once in a while when I got a new part and needed to work on it.
It was easy the PSU shroud really helped.
No it was just the window.
I painted the SSD trays and PCIE covers do u think that voided the warranty?
Yeah this was my first time trying to spray paint anything. Thanks for the help.
Does the Enthoo Evolv pick up finger prints or scratch easily. I s340 is scratching a lot and I haven't even touched the case that much.
Good choice I am replacing my s340 it scratched so much.
I would NOT get the s340 I have one and it scratches like crazy! I am actually going to replace mine and I have only had it for roughly 3 months and I handle everything as carefully as I can.
Ok thank you!
Where did you hear that!?
ikr I was thinking the same thing.
The only thing I would change is peeling off the sticker on the SSD. Otherwise awesome build!
Oh sorry for not specifying I meant the hue+ extension kit I didn't know if the base hue+ would fit all the way around the case. Also what do you wipe it down with?
Did you have to buy an extension kit for this case? Also how do you clean it? I have a black s340 and it needs a wipe down but I don't want to scratch it.
I would change the power supply the CX series is a hrrible PSU.
The only problem I have with ultrawide monitors is that it costs an insane amount to get a refresh rate of over 100hz.
Do you think that water cooling in the s340 is worth it? I have the same case and I was just wondering.
Yeah I meant $1200. That part list won't work because he wants that case but it seems like every motherboard I add it won't work. Will it really not work or is that just PcPartPicker being buggy?
I recommend Main Frame Customs. They have been around for a few years. The two greatest things about this apposed to the bitfenix cable extensions is that you can pick the colors and the order of the colors. The other great thing about Main Frame Customs is that the bottom layer of cables is shorter then the top so it gives it a curve. This keeps the cables nice and neat and they don't look all bent around and sloppy like the bitfenix cables do.
I have a black and blue color scheme going on in my s340. I have painted a few parts on it but now it looks like I have to bust out the spray paint again!
Ok thanks for the help
I don't think I will save for the 6700k because this is just a gaming build and you get like 2 fps more for an extra $100
Yeah I was just thinking that while I was looking over the part list again.
I have concluded that it was the mosture and now everything works! Sorry to waste your time. This info will not go completely to waste as my friend is looking to build a similar system with the same color scheme.
I wast not painting my PCIE slots btw. I was painting accents at the top of my motherboard. I don't know how paint managed to get into it I think it might just be moister from being outside because I'm not going to paint it inside my house.
It might just be moister that got to my motherboard. I have little packs that remove moister so hopefully that fixes it because I do t feel like spending $150
How much will the Z170 pro gaming aura cost I kind of have a budget of around $150
K thanks will try that
