zabba's Completed Build: 7700K OC'd to 4.9ghz with 1080ti OC'd to 2ghz - First Liquid cooled build

So do you just leave the left-side of the case off and have all fans blowing out as exhaust?

Sorry I am not familiar with the RAMDisk feature. The BIOS has been updated a lot since launch, it may have it but I am not sure. Keep an eye on future updates.

Mounting the reservoir was super easy, but the screws it came with were a bit short so I had to buy some longer one's along with a Nut to secure it, once I had those it was a piece of cake. Airflow IS a bit limited on the entire case as part of its ultra-quiet design, but it's more than sufficient for keeping it cool. Also my radiators needed slightly longer screws to secure them, but I think that was because of the brand I used and the way I placed them in the case.

I had to move the motherboard down 1-notch for the top radiator to fit and if you use a radiator on the bottom it may get close to the power supply, so make sure you have enough room for your wires. The case can be modified so many ways I'm sure you'll find a design to fit your needs.

Air intake from the side is possible but only if you get the case without a window or if you put the window on the back-side of the case, the other panel has an intake but since I wanted my windows to actually show the insides it is on the rear of the case (therefore not in-taking any air.)

It is a variable intake so it can be popped open when utilized or closed to appear as a solid panel. The openings on the top and bottom have input holes in them, but they lead directly to the top and bottom fan intakes so they don't actually go through the side.

Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion I only named it saying Chilled to rhyme with Build. Not using an actual water chiller, sounds awesome though!

zprater's Completed Build: Updated First Build (RGB Everything, Why Not?)

Kleon333 1 Build 2 points 24 months ago

Looks great! I can totally relate to the feeling of freedom moving out of your parents home and being able to game freely. Although I had 5 years living alone before moving in with my fiance' (now wife) but it's the same principle.

Have fun!

Since codes 2B-2F are Memory Initialization and both the preceding and following codes are for memory issues as well, I would begin by testing each memory module and slot individually. Also ensure you get a good firm placement when you insert them, I hadn't pushed them down deep enough the first time I started up my machine and got a similar error.

The_Wizard_Man's Completed Build: Lindsay's Bane - Watercooled Build - First PC Build

Kleon333 1 Build 2 points 24 months ago

This is a beautiful build. I found it because I was looking at the water-reservoir from my recent build and you have the same model. Your build is above mine though, you have dual 1080s and a beautiful HardTube setup. I settled for standard tubing and a single 1080, but my boot SSD is water-cooled as well.

Either way just wanted to say awesome setup. I didn't see if you had a drain-valve though. Mine is at the bottom of the reservoir facing the rear of the case, I was curious where you put yours.

I'm not too familiar with all of the different testing procedures but I did disable SMT and the number of treads dropped to 8 treads on 4 cores. Performance wasn't much affected, but so far I have been unable to get above 4.1Ghz. I've adjusted DRAM timings and voltages to try and alleviate any stress but I can't get it to hit 4.2 yet. I know my lack of overclocking experience and voltage knowledge may be to blame, so I am confident it can hit 4.2 with the right settings.

Everything is running smooth and keeping very cool. I'm relieved that my first custom-loop was a success with no leaks or issues so far.

AIDA64. It has shown reliable graphs and numbers so far. It seems to monitor temps well when running benchmarks and games.

I am currently planning a very similar build with the same case. I am happy to see how it looks and worked out for you. Gives me more confidence and a better idea what to do going into my build.

Great job by the way, I hope I can get something that looks and runs as smooth as yours!

I think most people consider old/outdated as synonyms when talking about PC components. But honestly they did release over 5 years ago, in the modern PC age that can be considered an old component.

By the same viewpoint the i5 2500k is older as well, but certainly still powerful enough to compete which makes it not as 'outdated' either. People look at it and can define it using different terms.
