Yeah understandable. I mean it is like 8000 pieces. The largest set I own is the Republic Frigate from 2011. Although it is in pieces and most of the pieces in a bin with dozens of other disassembled sets. Going to rebuild it one day. Next to that I just bought The Delta 7 with Hyperdrive ring. Hasn't arrived yet. Been wanting one since I was 7 or 8. Although it was the 2008(I think it was 2008 at least) model that I first wanted. But the current one is just as cool.

Not a bad idea tbh. In a few years when LEGO stops making it, the price will shoot up. And even accounting for inflation you could easily get 150% of your initial investment. But it will be a while. Remember the 2005 Death Star was on shelves for 8 years. Only to be replaced by an updated model.

I don't know if it's specifically them wanting to play. I know a lot of people like high quality display pieces. I know if I had a UCS(ultimate collectors series) set I would display it. Maybe make MOCs(my own creation) of battles. I am actually wanting to start building some MOC battles. So lots of reasons why adults may want to buy. But in the end you are ultimately playing with LEGO.

Well LEGO makes a lot of sets targeted at adults. Like the $800 UCS Millennium Falcon. Or the $700 UCS Star Destroyer. But also weirder ones like The Beetles Yellow Submarine. I don't think kids nowadays are fans of The Beetles.

Also minor nitpick. The plural of LEGO is LEGO.

Is it culturally normal for a 13 or 14 year old to build a computer? No. Cultural norms don't matter, Especially with LEGO. I still buy them. I am almost 17. Some LEGO sets are listed for ages 14+. And I don't think sets like the $800 UCS Millennium Falcon, or the $700 UCS Imperial Star Destroyer are for kids. LEGO is for all ages. I mainly buy because I love Star Wars and they make great displays. And I want to get into MOCs of battles.

Well imo you can never go wrong with asking for a LEGO Star Wars set. I recommend the AT-AP or Clone Scout Walker. The Droid Gunship is a good option as well.

Or on the larger side, the 20th Anniversary Slave One.

The great part is I wasn't hungry. Salad is very filling while being low on calories. Throw some olives in(or another healthy fat like avocados) to increase the calories a bit while still being health(I highly recommend stuff green olives for salads, or even by themselves as a snack). Some pickles and pickles juice, and my preference is a mix of spinach and romain(usually 2-3 heads of romain and a liberal amount of spinach) and you have the makings of a great salad. Just don't add dressing. That's what the pickle juice is for.

No not really a timetable as to when to eat or anything about portions. It just explains what a whole foods plant based diet is, the research and evidence behind it, and yes what to eat(buy). No calorie counting on this diet. Because if you completely switch, at first you will likely only be getting about 1000 calories a day. May sound like a bad thing but you won't be hungry. First week I was on this I only had 800-1200 calories a day. Because I was just eating veggies. And when that happens, your body is forced to start breaking down the fat to supplement for the calories. And this is a good thing. In my first week I lost 5kg. That was without working out. All I did was eat the right stuff. And don't worry about muscle loss. Your body does not start breaking down muscle until you run out of fat. Fat is the highest source of calories between carbs, proteins and fats. Carbs and proteins have 4 calories per gram, but fats have 9 calories per grams. So if you stuff yourself with plant carbs(basically all plant calories are in the form of carbs or protein) you will be able to eat more food than if you ate fats(meat, dairy and the like). So you can eat more, while having less calories. But I wouldn't worry about time tables. Eat when you are hungry. But eat the right stuff as described in the video.

I recommend a whole foods plant based diet. It's working for me, and the evidence shows it's the best for you. I recommend watching this video. It's very informative and explains the difference between this and a vegan diet. And the best part. You can eat as much as you want of most foods in the diet. But if you are working out your limits are a lot more flexible. I know it's a long video but it's worth the watch.

And probably the best part is that if you stay on this it cleans your pallet and foods start to taste different. Since I have been on this I have gone from not liking raw spinach in my salad, to thinking it's pretty good. Fruits taste sweeter due to my vastly decreased sugar intake. And at least I have started to crave things like grapes and berries as opposed to candy or bread. And probably the biggest change is I have stopped craving meat. And for me that's been the most surprising part. Also if you try it, the Whole foods plant based subreddit has some good recipes.

I live in San Antonio which has an extremely high homeless population. And what my family had to learn when we moved here is that you can't help everyone. And if they get mad at you for not helping, they likely aren't after food.

But also you are under no obligation to help anyone really. They don't deserve your generosity if you do give. They really don't.

Simple. Do research. See what colleges you want to go to and see what programs they offer. See if anything interests you. Take that. Look into it. And think about if you could make a career out of that and like it. You got plenty of time. The only reason I am focused on college as a junior is because I am graduating early and starting college right after. But you have time. Also consider going to a trade school.

Plenty if land jobs. Intel, medical, legal, aviation, and many more.

I like your saying you got there, where’d you find it?

I got it from my Dad who likely got it from another Marine.

Actually took an ASVAB opportunity provided by my school today. I’ll be interested in seeing the results.

If you intend on joining get as high if a score as possible. That will help get you a better job.

What I was considering was going to college, and then joining the army as an officer. Not entirely dedicated to this idea, but it’s one I could possibly get behind.

Not a bad path at all depending on what field you go. The Army does have an esports team I think.

Man, there are boats in the navy. You know what boats do? They sink, especially when attacked. You know what boats are built for being attacked? Navy boats. I’m not about drowning!

There have been very few Navy ships that sunk since WW2. I think all of them were accidents. And you don't actually need to be on a boat in the Navy.

I know of a few people who did that, but I feel like Coast Guard is sort of a discount military.

There is a saying that I think sums this up.

"There are only 2 branches of the military. The Army and the Navy. Air Force is a corporation. Coast Guard is a law enforcement agency. The Marine Corps is a cult."

Which is accurate as the Coast Guard was established in 1790 to combat piracy and enforce tariffs.(although then it was named the Revenue Marine Service then, wasn't changed to Coast Guard till 1915)

Well I do plan on going Marine Corps shortly after I turn 18. And possibly going Navy as a more long term thing since Navy lawyers get some good bonuses(20k every few years). But I am not certain if I want to be a Navy JAG. Right now my focus is Marine Corps enlisted legal services. Get a law degree, go Marine Corps officer as a Judge Advocate. But either way I would be working for the same JAG Corps as the Marines are under the Navy's JAG Corps. I just think that the Navy is the best option for the average person.

If you are considering joining and don't want to go Navy, I recommend Coast Guard. That was my plan, but I would need a height waiver and I would be limited as far as jobs. And my interests have changed since then(shifted to law). But the Marine Corps is a good path if you like challenge and PT.

No problem. And if you really want to go the Neuroscience path or something similar, I recommend looking into the programs the US Navy has. In some cases if you go the medical side they will pay your tuition and commission you a Lieutenant. But they also have other programs for the research side of things. May not be for you, but I recommend seeing what they offer. Also the Air Force may have similar programs, probably more on the research side. Anyway good luck.

Well I have grown up as a Marine's brat. So that definitely influenced me. Although my Dad has never pushed to go into the military in any way. I still have another 13 months minimum till I can however. Long way to go. But hey 25k a year with a top notch healthcare plan and allowance for food and housing, plus college tuition benefits sounds to me like a great job to have for an 18 or 19yo. Plus it opens the path for once I get a bachelors degree to go officer and make 50k a year plus the previously mentioned benefits. And once those benefits are factored in you would need to make in the civilian world, around 50k per year to equal the pay and benefits of an E2. And around 90k per year to equal the pay and benefits of an O-1E. And not to mention the Navy offers massive bonuses for Doctors, Nurses, Lawyers, Dentists and a lot of others. While the Navy probably won't be my path, IMO it is the branch to join if you are in the medical field, or are a Lawyer. And now I am rambling.

I am also a junior in high school (technically, long story) so perhaps I can provide some insight from someone of a similar age.

I used to think I wanted to go CS. For several years. Simply due to my interest in computers. But over the past year and a half I realized that my interest was mainly on the hardware side, and as a hobby. Took me a while to figure out what I want to do. But I think my path is Law. And I will be starting college for Paralegal Studies later this year. I plan on going to law school. But due to the path I want to go job wise(Paralegal in the military) I likely won't end up with a law degree till I am in my late 20s.

Anyway the point I am trying to make is that you don't need to do all of college in a row. If you are unsure you can proceed cautiously. Things change. People change. My eventual goal is law school, but my plans could change over the next 10 years. I may find a different path and career I would rather do. But the worst thing that you can do is nothing. If you get into college and realize the major you chose is not the best path you can change your major.

But if you think the neuroscience field is your path go for it. You may end up hating it and changing your major. But that's better than doing nothing. You may also love it and find great success in that field.

Well that's my thoughts.

That is the only method I know of.

So wait, you can predict how much GPU power game engines will need 4 years from now? Will my Vega 56 be viable in 6 years? /s

You can't predict what game engines will require hardware wise in 4 years. Or even in 6 months. You won't know if a GPU will be able to run a game till you actually run that game. Best you can do is make a guess based off current games minimum specs. Gears 5 just released and it's minimum GPU specs say a R9 280 or GTX 760. Both of them are 6 years old. So my guess, and it's just a guess, in 4 years the 580 will still be viable. I see this as probably. However it could not be viable. You can't give a definite answer.

Now if you had made a case about the GPU you would have a point as since higher core count CPUs are becoming more common and for newer games 4c/4t is the minimum for a lot of games now, it's likely that it won't be enough in 4 years. But again you can't say for certain.

This will take years to get do e if it continues. Discovery alone will take years. Then if it actually goes to trial(if it does get that far then GF would have a strong case) that would also take months, even years. The affect of an outcome in favor of GF would not take hold for probably 5 years. These things take a long time.
