Comment reply on manirelli's Build Guide: Modest AMD Gaming Build

Hello -

Recently put together this build (with exception to the case, SSD and hard drive). Used the three other pieces I had from my Cyberpower pre-built that I had beforehand and loving it!

Had a few questions for those that are more tech savvy than I - - When I game the cpu temps hover around 60-70 degrees and even reaches 75 degrees at times. Is this too hot? I've read that its not, but being new to pc's i wanted to make sure.

Thanks

I really appreciate you doing that! I didn't know you could check those pieces within my current tower. Good to know you can do that on the site.

The current power supply in my build is a 500W PSU. Maybe I should upgrade it while I am upgrading everything else?

Is there anything else I need to worry about when changing out those parts with the new ones?

This is the current list I have compiled: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8ctTq4

Thanks again for your time.

Looking to upgrade my current rig with some of the parts from above. Current build attached below.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-ultra-desktop-amd-fx-series-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-560-1tb-hard-drive-black/6225212.p?skuId=6225212&cmp=RMX&extStoreId=820&ref=212&loc=DWA&gclid=CjwKCAjw5ZPcBRBkEiwA-avvk-kM0wJcv4PrmOTIrw_tNYyXg0DgAo27lmkU5_f9nHhmlmDU4tHkzhoCCMYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I've added a 512gb ssd and an additional 8gb of ram.

I want to upgrade my mobo, cpu, and gpu with the parts from the build above. I know I'll need to upgrade my RAM during the process. Is there a way to see if it will all physically fit within the case of my current build before buying the parts?

If I were just to buy the cpu, mobo and ram due to budget. Would I be able to get away with the current gpu and power supply in the current build?

Also - would it make sense to upgrade my power supply during this time? My current power supply "should" be fine for the watts needed, but does it make sense to upgrade it during this time?

Thanks - SF

Yeah - I'll be sure to paint some on the side of my rig.

Not sure just yet on what specific upgrades I want to do. Really just looking to future proof the machine for the next few years. So maybe cpu, gpu, and mother board or just one of the three.

Thank you all for the help on this! I really appreciate you each taking the time to look through my build and comment on what could be upgraded for a low cost.

In terms of adding an additional SSD like this one Kingston SSD and upgrading the GPU would I need to worry about the power supply being too low or the overall heat being too high?

Also - What GPU would be compatible and be an upgrade around $100-$200?

Thank you again !!

Thank you for the quick reply. Any recommendation on what SSD would be best in this situation? I was shooting to stay between $200-$400 over the next few months in total upgrades.
