Beautiful build, what'd you do for the delid? I'm thinking of upgrading from a 6600k to a 7700k and I definitely want to delid.
Dude, that thing is sweet, +1, and I'm calling a feature right here.
Noctua's probably the best air cooler manufacturer in the world. Their best design will beat most top of the line water coolers.
Gotta say pretty decent. Grab a better PSU though, that one looks kinda sketchy...
Why 32 GBs of RAM lol, could have gotten 16 and gotten a GTX 1070 for about the same price.
Hell yeah man.
When did you get the CPU, cause the 7700k is the same price and will OC to 5 GHz easy.
When did you build this?
Nah bad idea bro, 1080 SLI will beat 1 Titan XP any day m8.
Girlfriend (I presume) of the year! This build looks great, +1
Not half bad...
Yes. Z270 and Z170 are practically identical except with a couple new features.
Crossfire btw, SLI is an NVidia thing.
I like the look of red PCs, they look aggressive and clean. Besides I finished it before Ryzen came out and I just put it up. Plus AMD's GPUs are more for the builder with a budget and they don't have the performance of a 1070.
Pretty good, MSI is pretty reliable and the 1080 isn't a bad idea either.
I was, although Red Death is a pretty ****** exotic.
WTH 5 GHz HOLY **** lol. Wasn't expecting that from a 4790k. +1
Pretty sweet, what's the benchmarks results? FPS on triple A titles? Love AMD builds, they're a great company. I'm glad they're finally getting better CPUs and GPUs.
Thanks, appreciate it.
Gotta say I love NZXT's cases. H440 fan right here. My build is in a black/red one. Here's a link. This build is pretty sweet except for the ketchup and mustard cables. Ewww... Lol.
Hey finally up to S4 lol
Custom water! Custom water! Dude this build is pretty beastly. It'd be insane if you could fit a whole custom loop in that beast. I love it!
Pretty good, 60 fps+ settings cranked on most games I play. GTA V and Fallout 4 will get less than 60 but I have every, and I mean every setting cranked to the max. In nature sections of GTA V I'll get less than 60, but keep in mind GTA V says that I'm using 5+ GB of VRAM which your card right now doesn't even have. Fallout is just badly optimized so even a 1080 is going to struggle to get more than 60 fps on demanding areas with the settings cranked, but I love the 1070, it's a great card. Sorry for the wall of text.
Yeah, but me I'd just sell the parts individually. You could probably sell the i7 for $150+ or with the mobo for like $220. You could also sell the 650 ti for about $30-$50. The rest, other than the Drives and RAM, is worthless
This was my planned build before Pascal came out, GTX 1070 life for me now! +1
Gotta say, love a well-put together white build. This is kind of the same specs I wanted to build before Pascal came out then I went for the 1070, love it! +1
Why'd you go for the old i3? Did you friend re-use it from an old build?
Pretty sweet but I would go for a more modern card if I were you.
Small yet packs a punch! Pretty sweet.
I like this, are you going to upgrade the GPU any time soon?
Pretty sweet, it looks very cramped in that case! +1 for decent cable management
I've heard that AMD software is terrible when compared to nvidia but I agree that the RX 470 is the better buy
Pretty decent, but for me I'd like a better efficiency PSU w/ more watts.
Pretty simple, it'd be pretty sweet if you could swap out the mobo, OC the CPU and get a 1050ti.
Glad a Mac user is transitioning over to the PC master race... somewhat. Lol +1
Ik, but my Mobo was shipped to me with a defective 2nd PCI-E slot and I didn't want to wait, so yeah.
Eh, Liquid has some inflated numbers, because Water has a higher specific heat that makes it take longer to get to max temp, and once you're done taxing the CPU you need to wait to get that better starting temp again. With and expensive air cooler it hits max temps right away and there's no burn-in time for testing if and overclock was stable. Air is safer overall than liquid because you are not cooling your components with something that could kill them if they leak. Overall lower burn-in times make air coolers look in-efficient in the short-run, but in the long run comparably priced air and liquid stack up pretty evenly. Here's a link to a video that explains it. TL;DR Air Coolers max temps can match the max temps of liquid, but it reaches it much faster.
****, your GPU and CPU cooler are close... closer than my build and it has a Noctua NH-D15! Here's a link. I had to re-orient my Heatsink because it blocked the 1st PCI-E slot, but it still only has about 1/4 of an inch of space in-between.
Yeah I agree but it would interfere with my RAM. Also I re-oriented the D15 to be vertical because it blocked my 1st PCI-E slot. I have just the normal gaming version of the 1070, so no factory OCs. I OCed it myself.
Hey if the D key sometimes stick you might want to lube the switch up with some sort of grease or something here's a link to a thread that may help you.
Yeah, I really love that keyboard. I have it. My one friend has Cherry MX Red switches and they feel non-tactile and sort of spongy to me.
Holy **** you got ripped off on that keyboard.
It's cool but kind of inefficient with all the wasted space that could be used for heat-pipes...
You are one lucky man...
I see you're planning a Ryzen build...
You sir, are insane lol great PC.
Did you build this recently? If you did, you should have waited for Ryzen, you could have saved money by going w/ a Ryzen 7 1700 or a Ryzen 7 1700X or a Ryzen 7 1800X and gotten better performances. Otherwise good build, +1.
