Yeah man, that is what I have been reading also! My X62 and ram just came in the mail today now I just need to pick a mobo+cpu and its go time!
Enjoy your build im jealous and thank you for your honest responses man its appreciated.
Ah right on, I was gonna warn against installing the Gskill software because from my research users claim it does cause conflicts with other RGB software. Trying to figure out a universal RGB scheme is much harder then it should be it is really annoying.
Thanks again for the info man, I guess I will go with either board depending on price. I will probably try to get a open box from micro center. Either the z270h or the Hero and possibly the CODE for $229 open box.
Sadly I can not find any place to buy any of those RGB fans in the US. If I am understanding this correctly though they would attach to my normal fan headers and then a separate rgb header cable would go to my mother board. I would then daisy chain the rgb header cable to the rest of the fans? I hope they would not need their own RGB header because most boards have only 1-2.
Right on man, mine is in the mail hope all goes well with it. Thanks for the honest input man I appreciate it!
Do you have any problems with it conflicting with any other RGB software you may have running?
First off very nice build, looks amazing! I just ordered the X62 and plan to get the hue+ and fans also. How bad has the Cam experience been for you so far?
first off thank you for the detailed reply I really appreciate it man. The fan info was very helpful for me. I will be using a RGB controller for my fans more then likely Hue+. I would like to use something that worked directly with Aura sync but as far as I know Cooler master is the only brand that works directly with the mobo and they are sold out most everywhere last I looked.
I am sorry to say I believe I am gonna leave team strix for team ROG. It may be a little more expensive and I lose the wifi which I don't need. My main reason is the Fail safe bios option as I will be overclocking for the first time.
I do have 1 question though the Ram i ordered is not listed on the ASUS qvl for the Hero but it is listed on the G.Skill website as compatible. Will I run into any problems or should I return the ram and get something else?
The module is the G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16S-16GVK
Thanks again for taking the time to answer and help me with my questions and build you guys are the best!
Thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback I really appreciate it man. I am gonna go ahead and just get it and hope for the best. Hopefully they will fix this sometime soon but I have heard its been hit or miss since release.
Yeah man, I see what you are saying and its lame as hell. I was thinking about buying the x62 in the next couple days but the more I ask people how their experience is with CAM its always a different bug.
Has cam failed to recognize your x62 ever? Also did you install the G.skill beta software to control your ram RGB? I had heard installing that along with CAM and Aura have been causing people probs.
First off very nice build congrats man! My build is going to be very similar to yours and I was wondering if you have ran into any problems with Cam software causing conflicts with the Zrgb and aura sync?
How has the Cam software been treating you so far?
Looks great man hope you enjoy, how is the corsair Cue software for running your AIO?
The drive bays are not installed nor come with the case I am pretty sure so you have like 15 inches or so for GPU clearance.
Hey man first off thank you for the detailed reply I really appreciate it! Sadly my Micro center does not carry the Taichi so it just made my choice non existent. The strix and mobo come out to 498$ with tax and the MC is 30 miles away. I think that is the best deal I will find for that combo.
I am very uninformed with the current hardware market so please correct anything I assume if wrong. I am upgrading from a i5 2500 non K that I bought second hand. While I do not mind paying extra for features I need\want I want to avoid paying for those I don't.
As I thought they both performed similar for the price +- a features . I did like that the Taichi was able to update the bios from the bios itself. I do not plan to use anymore then 1 M.2 so either board would work for me in that department.
This is also a pretty basic question I bought the Phanteks p400 tg non S version. The S version comes with a fan hub while the normal which I ordered does not. I will be using 5 pwm fans including my x62. Will I need to purchase a fan hub to use them all and if I can will I be able to control all of them within windows?
How did you like the audio on the on the Strix not a huge deal but little things add up when making decisions.
Thanks again for your response
I am doing a similar upgrade but I will be going with the Strix Z270e and Kraken X62. I was wondering why you chose to go with Corsair memory I am not sure but I do not think it syncs my Asus rgb Aura. I have been using m40x from audio technica and I love them very neutral sound and super comfy. The only con which is not a con for me is the bass is low. I also see them frequently paired with blue yetti at a great price but its been a while.
