It was originally a MSI 970A mobo but I had problems getting it to post. So I took it back got store credit and got another mobo and on impulse I got the Sabertooth 990x for a lot more. Which I'm glad I did. You won't find this combo for $99 anywhere.

But check frys.com System Build and Storage. They have an amd 6300 and MSI mobo combo for 109 right now.

Nothing I've recognized yet. I use the motion 240 and 120hz on this monitor and it's very very smooth. 120ish fps on games like Diablo3, Civ5 and BF4 64player[med-high settings].

The only lag I get is from the wireless connection.

The only reason the boys have this monitor is because I went out and got the Asus Rog Swift otherwise this bad boy would still be mine. Another thing the brightness is terrible out of the box I had to turn it down a lot and make some adjustments.

Replaced the PNY GTX 960 with an EVGA SSC GTX960 4gb. Fry's didn't have the MSI or Asus 960 so I got the EVGA and very happy I swapped out the PNY. Thanks for the info. This is what I got.

Returned the PNY and got a EVGA SSC GTX960 4gb with backplate for 239. Looked for Asus and MSI 1st but they were sold out. Could have the Gigabyte but the card is over 11inches long and might not fit in my case so the only other choice was the EVGA. Played Diablo3 for about 2 hrs on it and it was at about 100-144 FPS card at about 60-70c and could hear the fans but wasn't really that loud. Good enough for me and my kids by a mile. Thanks for the suggestion.

Good PSU seen it go for $49 at newegg

Not modular but pretty hard to beat that price and you get a 3yr warranty. Would be plenty for a R9 or GTX 9-- GPUs.

The Mobo and ram where from my previous build. I had them laying around but both are less then a year old.

The cpu was a bundle deal for $99 for mobo and cpu. I couldn't get the mobo to post so returned it but kept the cpu for the discounted price of $59. I could overclock the 6300 to 4.4ghz and it would be cooler then the 8350 at the same speeds. I got store credit for the 8350 so it was all good.

Thanks and good luck on your future build.

If you SLI in the future get the same GPU with the same clocks because if you get the G1 gaming it will revert to the slowest speed GPU. Grats on your new build good luck with it.

Thanks. I got this PSU because it was on sale with a $20 rebate so I took a chance on it. So far it's been worth every penny. The only draw back is this unit is not Modular but with the NZXT H440 case I can hide it behind the PSU cover. Also the cables are plenty long enough to reach every spot I needed. I got extensions just to keep the red and black theme because on the Corsair 750cx the cables are black and gold. Good luck on your build.

To be honest I didn't like the mouse at 1st. Felt really good but the large mouse wheel seemed like it would roll then stick. There is no programs for the side buttons which I didn't notice until after I bought it. They do work in game options so all is not lost.

I got the mouse on discount so I thought I would give it a try. 4 levels of sensitivity with the fastest being way too fast to my controls but it gives me the options which I like. Paired with my k30 keyboard it goes well together and my NZXT red and black case along with my red and black theme parts it's the 1st thing people notice is the mouse and keyboard and say hey it matches your computer. When it's the other way around.

I've only had this for little over a month and it's grown on me. I like it and after several miss clicks and team wipes I don't think I would want to pay more then the $29 I paid for it. Or would ever want to pay more then that for any mouse really. I just hope it lasts several years.

Phew. I just added a second gtx 980 strix this week and was seeing some crazy temps. I have almost the same setup as you. Top card idles around 60c second card is a whopping 36-38c. I have GPU Tweak turn on the fans at 50c for 35% and I can't hear them at all. Nice system you got there.

Bingo! I thought it was my motherboard or cpu but it was windows. Set windos to powersave to get it to throttle to x8 - x44. Takes a performance hit but this will be a savior on hot days. Thanks that was hurting my head and making me lose some sleep.

Hi nice build. I was wondering is that the EK X360 or X240 liquid cooling kit? I've been thinking about putting something like that in my system.

Tried all those settings and it still won't throttle down to 8x multiplier. Changed my ram to default 1300 and still the same. My clock is stuck at 40x and turbos to my OC 4.6 or 4.7.

Should be able to speedstep default mode. Right now it's on adaptive and it won't go below 4k ghz, 40x and 1.027v. I'm not sure what's going on.

So long as I'm at 1.216v and at 4.6 or under I'm good with this chip no BSOD's while gaming. I know I've have had BSOD's but that's stressing my CPU with Aida64 and doing changes to the bios. The profile I've been using has been running 4.6ghz for just a couple of weeks now. I don't have CAD so i wouldn't know how that would effect my computer.

My CPU doesn't speedstep anymore. When it was new it used to throttle down to 800ghz then back up to 4k then 4.4 turbo but it stopped doing that last week. I don't know what I'm going to do but I can just exchange it before my 30 days of purchase. I don't know. Thanks though.

Thanks!

I use CPUID HWMonitor, Core Temp 1.0, Corsair Link, Intel Extreme Tuner and Aida64. I love HWMonitor I have that open all the time to check fan levels and temps.

Maybe you didn't seat your heat sink good with the test on the h105. I know I used the pea method with a thicker paste like Formula 7 and it didn't spread right and It made my cpu spike 10-20c. Opened it up and saw one corner not spread. If your getting that drastic drop off in temps then I would re-seat the cooler again. That would be the 1st thing I do. And get Gelid Extreme it's awesome

Your setup is fine right now. Don't go with the r9 280 that would be a downgrade. That extra ram won't be noticed. Your GTX 760 has a higher clock and runs way cooler and quieter. Also you would need to run the r9 280 with a 750w PSU.

Ok you got me thinking about the fans and performance so I removed my Noctua's and swapped it with the stock Corsair from the h100i. The performance of the stock fans were better by about 5-8c. The bigger thing was the socket temp on the MB even went down by about the same amount. It is much louder with the stock fans and the Noctua's worked well with moderate OC'ing so for the noise reduction I'll stick with the Noctua's and enjoy the silence. The stock fans are average when idle it's when they have to work that they get loud.

They do about the same job as the stock fans that came with the H100i. Noctua says it runs up to 1500rpm, Corsairs ran 3000. The pic of HWmonitor shows them running under 1k and keeping the CPU at about 20c idle and thats with an OC of 4.5GHz. The Corsairs idle would be working 1200+ and it would be hotter and much louder. I'm sold on the fans and was thinking about getting 3 more Noctuas for the front but the only thing holding me back is the NZXT case fans run silent and I like having a silent system. The Corsairs did a great job of pushing air and more than likely pushed more air under full load but it was the noise that made me switch.

Before you go buying another CPU why not overclock it. I doubt Counter Strike is going to use 8 cores. Also if your getting 200fps another 10-30 isn't going to make a huge difference. Get a SSD drive instead. After you use your SSD you won't be able to game without it.

One thing to remember about the NZXT H440 case is that there is no spot for a CD-Rom. If you can manage then this is an excellent case. Thanks.
